The Sensor Assembly is an OEM part for LG washing machines. This component is crucial for detecting and monitoring various conditions within the washing machine, such as water level, temperature, and load balance. It ensures the machine operates efficiently and effectively by providing accurate data to the control board.

Causes of a bad sensor assembly can include wear and tear from regular use, exposure to water and detergents, electrical malfunctions, or damage from impact. A faulty sensor assembly can lead to incorrect readings, which can affect the washing machine’s performance and lead to issues such as improper water levels or unbalanced loads.

Symptoms of a bad Sensor Assembly include:

  • Incorrect water levels during cycles
  • The washing machine stopping mid-cycle or not completing cycles
  • Error codes related to water level or load balance
  • The machine failing to start or operate correctly

This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore models.

Dexter for Model Number WM2277HB

My lg front load washer (wm2277hb) was not spinning while making a humming sound as it try to spin with no error code being displayed. I reviewed several postings on AppliancePartsPros.com and YouTube videos. Similar complaints to mine suggested that the motor assembly unit (msu) needed to be replaced because the interior threading is worn. In fact, my msu interior was worn. Today I replaced the msu and the washer spun; however, the humming sound continued. I stopped the washer to check the main bolt for looseness and restarted the washer several times. On the third try, the washer spun a few times and stopped with LE code. Additionally, l replaced the drum bearings, seal and shocks a year ago. Is it the motor sensor or another part that is causing the problem described above? Please advise.

Dexter, The LE error does indicate that the motor sensor is faulty and would need replaced. If it has been replaced but still doing the same thing then this will ba a control board assembly.

John, If the unit is getting power to the motor and the drum is not turning then check to make the belt is not broken, check to make sure that the blower wheel does not have anything caught in it and if it checks ok then the issue will be the motor.

Hello Tom. No, this is usually a bad board, bad bearings, clothing between the tub, or a suspension issue.

Hello Dawn. It could be the RPS sensor. Or it could be a balance issue or a bad rotor. You will need to check all 3.
