Unfortunate Dehumidifier Owner for Model Number LG Dehumidifier LHD459EL

The model number is a best guess as this was sent to me without a manual and there is NO model number on the machine anywhere. I picked the one where the picture looks as close to mine and the manual instructions on line look the most similar. The bucket full light stays on. I took apart the switch to see if it was sticking and it was not, but it still shows as being full even though empty. Is there any way to tell if it is the sensor or the switch that needs to be replaced? And when you replace these items what is the likelihood of it actually working again? Can either of these be reset before purchasing parts? Thanks for answering.

Unfortunate, The issue sounds like it would be a water level switch in the drain pan area. You can check the switch for continuity. Unfortunately we do not show that the switch is an available part to get.

Jeff, If the sensor that was replaced was for water level then the problem would be in the clip.

Wayne for Model Number goldstar dehumidifier ghd30y7

Dehumidiefier will run about 3 minutes then shut off-no matter what setting it is set at. Is there a humity sensor or something like that that could be the problem? The red light does not come on-bucket is empty-seems like a sensor to me. Everything works fine- just shuts off in 2-3 minutes. I tried different rooms, it is not the room humidity. I am sure it's some sensor but dont know what one, where it is, or what its called? Please help me out. Thank You

Hi. Unfortunately the control board is no longer available but there is a sensor part # 6877A30013V that you can use. They are clip mounted to each coil section. Make sure the filters are clean as well as the coils for proper freon circulation. This will all help. Thank You.

Hello Robert. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the main control board 6871A10141D is bad on the unit. The main board has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part.

Hello Tom, I've worked on several of these things over the past few years, and I have found a few sensors bad but quite a few bad control boards. Since the sensors are cheaper, I would try it first. If this produces no positive results, I would strongly suspect the control board.

Don for Model Number 580.54701500

Dehumidifier does not turn on. I get a flashing red light saying the bucket is full. I checked out the switch with my volt meter and have continueity. When I un-plug and plug back in the fan runs for about 2 to 3 seconds then I get the bucket light flashing and the humidity indicator shows 1%. Can't change the persentages, but the fan speed does change(fan not running). Thought maybe the sensor is bad but not sure how to check it out. I did see a posting where some one blow warm air on the sensor, I tryed it with no change.
