1 Answer

Tom, The sensor would be the issue with the unit but unfortunately, the sensor has been discontinued by the manufacturer with no suitable replacement available.

Hello Louis, This is normally caused by a bad sensor 6877A30013V. I'm sorry but this part has been discontinued by the manufacturer and no satisfactory substitutions have been provided. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Jack, Unfortunately we do not have specific information on this unit. From looking at the parts diagram it would appear that to remove the cabinet to replace the sensor assembly you will need to remove 6 to 8 screws from the back of the unit. This will allow the rear cover of the unit to come off. Once it is off you would remove 2 screws from the side panel at the bottom and this should allow the cabinet to be lifted off. This would be the only information that we could provide.

My LG LHD30 dehumidifier was developing ice on the coils. I cleaned the fins with compressed air, cleaned the filter and changed the sensor assembly yet it still develops ice as soon as it is turned on. The ice begins to form on the copper tubing at the lower left of the coils. Then it progresses from left to right along the lowest set of fins. Once the lowest fins are covered, it starts to form right to left on the next row of fins. It does this ice progression until the entire surface is frozen! Help!

Doug, The way that the unit is designed this issue would be normal with the exception that it should go into a mode in which the refrigerant will flow in reverse to melt the ice off the evaporator coils. In most cases when it is not going through the defrosting period it will be a issue of a faulty sensor or a bad control board causing the issue.

My dehumidifier has a function that if you lower the humidity setting to the lowest point (35%), and hit the "negative" button again, it will lock it to run continuously. Instead of showing the humidity setting, it shows "on". I did not set the unit this way, but it appears that it is working that way. How do a regain control of this unit so that I can set the desired humidity level. If I hit the "positive" button (to raise the humidity setting), nothing happens not even a beep. If I hit the "negative" button, nothing happens, but the unit does beep. I am now using the unit on two hour cycle which I can set from the panel and it works fine like that. The humidity level indicator show that the humidity is being lowered and I have seen it go as low as 65% in 2 hours before shutting off, but I'd like to be able to set the level at 70%. Could this be a sensor issue or a control board? The unit is 7 years old.

Jim, The first thing to check is to see if the control board is sending power to the compressor. If there is no power to the compressor then the issue would be a faulty control board. If there is power to the compressor then either the overload has failed or there is a faulty compressor.

Jack, The most likely cause for the issue that you are having would be the sensor assembly having failed. The part number for the assembly is 6877A30013V.

Dee, If the bucket full light is not coming on then the sensor would not be the issue. You will want to check to see if the compressor is running. If it is then check the evaporator coils and see if there is a frost pattern. The issue that you are having sounds like it could be in the sealed system. If the compressor is running but little or no frost pattern is a sealed system issue.

Chris, With having no display and the unit completely dead, the most likely cause for the failure would be the Display board 6871A20600B.
