Doug for Model Number LHD30 My LG LHD30 dehumidifier was developing ice on the coils. I cleaned the fins with compressed air, cleaned the filter and changed the sensor assembly yet it still develops ice as soon as it is turned on. The ice begins to form on the copper tubing at the lower left of the coils. Then it progresses from left to right along the lowest set of fins. Once the lowest fins are covered, it starts to form right to left on the next row of fins. It does this ice progression until the entire surface is frozen! Help!
Answer Doug, The way that the unit is designed this issue would be normal with the exception that it should go into a mode in which the refrigerant will flow in reverse to melt the ice off the evaporator coils. In most cases when it is not going through the defrosting period it will be a issue of a faulty sensor or a bad control board causing the issue. Read More...
