Part Number: OEM13695132
Manufacturer Part Number: 6R8MD3

A PTC starter that helps engage a compressor's start winding for reliable motor startup and shorter run-up. Use this direct-replacement thermistor when the compressor struggles to start or only hums instead of running. What it does:

  • Provides a timed reduction in start-circuit resistance so the compressor motor can start smoothly.
  • Helps prevent continuous start winding current after the compressor runs, protecting the motor.
  • Common symptom fixes: compressor hums, won't start, or system cycles without cooling.
  • Works as the electrical start device used in many refrigeration and small motor applications.
What's included:
  • One PTC starter (single thermistor start device).
Install notes:
  • Disconnect all power before attempting replacement; risk of shock or equipment damage.
  • Match the starter to the original part and wiring; replace only with the correct part number.
  • Handle terminals carefully; do not short or bend leads.
  • This is a non-serviceable component — replace rather than attempt repairs.

For Mcf Ptc Starter (Compressor Start Thermistor), 1 (Part Number: OEM13695132)

T. for Model Number MCBR4025

Fridge just stopped working... Took relay to the "man", he said was probably good.. "no noise when shaking it". But, I took overload off and it "rattled", so ordered form you all and got it.. put it on and still no go... Have checked compressor for ohms and "i think" it is good.. If relay IS bad, should it make the "click" like everyone else says that theirs does when power is on? Such a nice fridge, I hate to trash it if it is savable?? HELP!!!!!! Thank you!!! T.

Hello Mary. According to the manufacturer they do not offer a fan motor for this model. It may not have one inside it since they do not sell it. Or the fan motor is not accessible to replace it.

Sam, The red wire would connect to the overload relay and the white wire will connect to the terminal next to the number 5.

Bill, There should be a wire that would connect to the overload using a spade terminal. The original overload would be the round disc that has a wire soldered to it. The relay would then have a connector that goes to the number 2 terminal which is all that would need to be connected to it.

Ron, The PTC starter would not cause a loud humming vibrating sound. It sounds more like it may be a copper line vibrating against the cabinet or against another line. Check the lines and the condenser coil to make sure that the vibration is not coming from them. This is the most likely scenario.
