Sam March 31, 2014 for Model Number EWUF5W EWAVE FREEZER How do I replace my PTC start relay and overload?
1 Answer Hello Sam, Access the compressor and remove the plastic cover. This will normally snap around, pivoting over toward the floor. Some will have a single nut holding it on. This is model dependent. Use your cell phone to take a picture of the components and wires before you proceed for future reference, (if needed. Better safe than sorry!). Remove the components from the compressor. Remove one wire and insure you are reinstalling it on the same terminal on the new component. Once all wires have been properly transferred, reinstall the components and retaining clips and the cover. Read More...
John April 13, 2012 for Model Number MCCF10WMD I purchased from you part AP4565264 (CBB65A-2)CAPACITOR as someone told me to purchase that part to fix the freezer issue. Received part today and this model does not have that huge capacitor. Now I am thinking it may just be the starter assembly CB65A-1. I never opened the part that arrived. Can I return and now purchase the CB65A-1? When I plug in the freezer, it hums and then clicks off after about 5-6 seconds. Have compressor light but no power light. Compressor never comes on.
1 Answer Hello John. It sounds like the starter is bad and not the capacitor. Here is a link to our Repair Forum, this is a free service to our customers.
