This is a thermistor-style temperature sensor that monitors the internal temperature of the refrigerator compartment and sends readings to the control board. The control board uses this data to regulate the compressor and defrost cycles. Replace this sensor if the refrigerator is too warm, too cold, runs constantly, or displays error codes related to temperature sensing.
