Joe March 08, 2016 for Model Number DV456GWHDWR/AA-0001 Dryer is heating, but will not shut off and the timer is stuck on 48 minutes left in dryer time. Clothes are completely dry. Dryer mode selected was Bedding. Is this a thermostat problem or a timer problem?

1 Answer Hello Rajesh. Check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Check and make sure the unit is not set to Air Fluff. Also check the heater and thermostats and see if they are good. You can test these with a multi-meter MA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity. While looking on your site I came across your switch part #2068548. The photo shows this Thermostat and the one I took out of the dryer have very very similar markings on the back. The one I took from the dryer has four lines of markings: line 1 (501912), line 2 (T-O-D60T21), line 3 (1139), & line 4 (L230-50F). Your part #2068548 has: line 1 (501912), line 2 (T-O-D60T21), line 3 (S1228), line 4 (L230-50F). I was about to purchase your thermostat when I ran the "compatibility" check on your web site. It says your thermostat is not compatible with my dryer. Can you check this and make sure? If it is not compatible, can you offer a thermostat that will work with this gas dryer? Thank you, Charles
