Steve July 24, 2012 for Model Number lde7500acw dryer will not shut down on its own, replcaed the timer and unit still does the same thing.
1 Answer Steve, a quick easy check first, Put the timer dial in the air fluff selection 9 5 or 10 minutes will be sufficient) and start the dryer, if the timer advances and shuts off, the timer would not be the issue. You would then want to disconnect the exhaust vent tubing, and clear all the lint, and possible kinks and clogs, remove the lint filter and remove any debris or lint in the housing. Then run the dryer with the vent disconnected on one of the drying cycles. The way your dryer operates and timer advances, is based on drum temperature, if the temperature is not correct, due to a clogged vent or air flow issue, the timer won't advance. There are other possibilities, but start there. Read More...
Guest March 18, 2011 for Model Number ldg7500aal Our Maytag gas dryer takes about three hours to dry clothes and the timer never moves at all. The gas comes on only briefly (20-30 seconds) when called, but the drum area never gets as hot as it used to. I replaced my coils, the cycling thermostat and the high limit thermostat, (all your parts) but the problem remains. Igniter is good and radiant sensor ohms correct. Is the timer at fault? Please help. This is getting expensive. SK
