This is an electronic clock control board that is made for use with ovens and microwave/oven combination appliances. It is located at the back middle of the range and includes a small display window. The control panel is used to manage the oven functions like baking and broiling. It also includes a clock to show the time of day.If the oven cannot be changed from bake to broil, it may indicate the part is no longer working. A test of the heating elements can determine whether this is the case. Before starting the replacement process, make sure the range is not plugged into the wall and the oven and cooktop are both cool. Open the oven door to access the screws that hold the control board. Unclip the ribbon connection before removing the part. Reverse the process to install the new part. The electronic clock control board is sold as a single part. It is an authentic OEM replacement part that is compatible with wall ovens and microwave/oven combos from Jenn Air.

1 Answer

Steven B, Based on the model number provided the fault code F1 means the problem is: There is power to the element relay during time of day display. Solutions: Check membrane switch connections for corrosion or damage. Check J2, J7 (double oven) harness, ohm wires end to end. If ok, change the power relay board. If double oven change both PRB boards.

Sue, With neither element heating you will want to check to make sure that you have 240 vac to the unit and if you do then this will most likely be a control board issue.

Hello C.J., This sounds like the J1 harness is bad. You need to pull the J1 harness off of the display board and check for 12Vdc from terminal 1 to terminal 2 on the harness. Then test for 20Vdc from terminal 3 to 4. If these voltages are not there, verify the issue from the relay board. If the voltages are at the relay board, the harness has failed. If not, you have received a bad relay board. If the voltages are everywhere they should be, you have received a bad display board.

Todd for Model Number jjw3560cab

On our wall oven, the display is out, and when in use, it wont turn off unless, 1. set the bake temp to 150 and let it cool down, or 2. turn off the breaker. When set to broil none of the left side panel touch places work except the oven light, when in other settings except cleaning, only the bake spot works. All the right side spots work, just you cant see the display, except at certain times when all the lights are out and the oven is warm, then the display is very dim, but not discernible.

Hello Todd. You need to order and replace the control board in the unit based on the information you provided.

Ian S for Model Number JJW8527AAW

My Jenn Air single wall oven is starting to throw error code F5. Broiler appears to work OK but starting from a cold oven and going to 350F in bake mode, everything starts out OK and the temperature rises as usual in preheat mode. When it hits 350F, it drops out of preheat mode and into bake where it stays for less than a minute before displaying F5 and the beeping starts. I've checked the oven sensor and measured its room temp resistance of about 1100 ohms. Is this problem likely to be the control board or the relay board? I'd prefer not to have to buy both. Thanks!

1 Answer

Ian, The F5 error code is an indication that there is an overtemperature issue. You will want to check the wiring to the oven sensor and ohm the sensor. The resistance value of the sensor should be approximately 1090 ohms at room temp. If not within range replace the sensor.

Hello Robert, You will want to check resistance of the oven sensor and the Meat probe. The oven sensor should read a resistance of 1100 ohms at room temperature and the meat probe should read resistance of approximately 18963 ohms at 122 degrees. The resistance range gets higher as the temperature deceases. At 150 degrees the resistance is 9938 ohms, and at 156.2 resistance is at 8846 ohms. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Hello JPW. Some of the connectors have tabs that needs to be pressed or squeezed to release and pull them off the control board on the unit.
