Rhona R August 23, 2012 for Model Number RBS305PDQ8 I just received part # 8186024 Microcomputer Electronic Control Board for my Whirlpool Oven. I have turned off the breaker and am attempting to remove the defective control board. I removed the 2 side wires, the one of the other ones is very hard to remove, do I just gently pry and then unscrew the screws? Also...a repairman disconnected the fan wire for me several months ago when my problem started because fan stayed on all the time...where do I reattach the fan wire. Thanks.
1 Answer Rhona, You might find it easier to work with, if you remove the four mounting screws, disconnect the keypad ribbon and move the ERC out of the control panel, far enought to work with the harness connectors. If there any amount of prying needed, be very careful, do not damage or distort the plastic connector / housing. Thanks Read More...
Jeff February 27, 2012 for Model Number JJW9527AAB The clock numbers cannot be seen. Timers still work but you cannot read numbers on the clock. If you look really hard its almost like you can see the numbers, but not really. Any idea what part to replace or how to troubleshoot for which part needs to be replaced?
1 Answer Hello Jeff. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the clock WP71003424 is bad and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps. Read More...
Ralph December 12, 2011 for Model Number JMW8530AAB Serial #12023958YK The control display has been out for some time but the oven still works. I have noticed that the fan doesn't ever come on and i don't know if it ever has. Before i replace the control display, how do i check the operation of the fan, can it be wired to 120v direct to see if it works? i suspect the inop fan allowed the display to overheat. Also when using the oven on 400 recently i got a warning bell until the breaker was tripped and the temp went down.
1 Answer Ralph, to check for the display circuit, you will need to remove the control panel and access the back of the clock/erc and unplug the J1 connector( four wire/pin connector at the side of the clock back. Turn the power back on and with a multimeter check for 12 volts dc from pin 1 to pin 2 and 20 vac from pin 3 to pin 4 of the wire connector, no voltage on either test would indicate a bad main relay board 74006613 or broken wire in the wiring harness 71003404 if you have the voltage then you'd replace the ERC/Clock WP71003424. as for the cooling fan, it is controlled through the resistance of the oven temperature probe and only after a speific amount of time. actually the cooling fan seldom turns on except under extended cooking period and a higher temperatures. but yes you could attach a 120 VAC test cord to the motor terminals and test the motor for run, if you wish. But please be careful, don't shock yourself or short out anything. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
Adrian D. November 21, 2011 for Model Number JJW8527CAS When the tech first looked at the problem with the old clock replaced he suggested that it was a bad relay board and that was changed. That did NOT fix the problem and when they realized that the old clock board worked(except for the display) they ordered another clock and then another clock. Again in each case the oven does the same thing. As the oven works perfectly with the old clock and the fact that the old clock component board is significantly different it seems clear that this oven uses a different clock board. I would be more than willing to change it again but I cannot believe that we received three (3) defective clock boards all with the same problem. Again I love the oven and would hate to have to replace it just because I cannot get the right replacement board. If we cannot determine what the correct replacement is, is it possible to have the old clock board repaired so that the display works again? Adrian
1 Answer Hello Adrian. There are some companies that do repair old control boards. You can search and locate several of them. However, according to the model number, WP71003424 is the correct board. Check and make sure the model number for the unit is correct. If so, then according to the manufacture, it is the correct control board. Thank you. Read More...
Adrian D. November 20, 2011 for Model Number JJW8527CAS I have verified the model number JJW8527CAS. After I changed the clock the first time which I ordered myself from Sears Parts the display worked but the oven did not. I called in a repair person from Sears Service. We assumed the new control panel was bad and ordered another one. All of the replacement panels were clearly not new even though they were supposed to be. The third replacement clock was ordered from a different source and again it was NOT new and it had exactly the same problem. Again the display works with the replacement clocks but when you set the oven for Broil it starts to heat the broil element and the fan comes on but as soon as you open the door it shuts down. I understand that the color of the PC board does not make any difference but the component layout is completely different from the original board. And again when the old panel is reinstalled the oven works just fine but of course with no display. The repair technician, from Sears, gave up on the problem and suggested I try to get a replacemnet panel locally. Morgan and White thinking that Sears Parts was lacking the proper information on the replacement part. When I look at the one on your site and display the component side I can see that it is the same as all of the replacement panels I have already tried. The serial number on my oven is 12529752CA and I am wondering if there was a different panel for this particular vintage. It has been a great oven and I hate to give it up because of a faulty display and an inability to get a proper replacement. I also wonder if it is possible to have the original panel repaired to restore the display. Adrian
1 Answer Hello Adrian. Based on the model number you provided, WP71003424 is the correct oven control board. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the relay board 74006612 may be bad and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps. Read More...

Dougt1989 November 10, 2011 for Model Number jjw8530aab I put my oven on clean and now everytime I try and do something the code f3 comes up on the digital display. The oven fan stays on all the time. What does this code mean? How do I fix it?
1 Answer Hello! The F3 failure code indicates that the oven temperature sensor is open or has shorted. You will need to check the sensor harness and harness connection between the oven sensor and the oven control. If the wiring is ok then you will need to replace the temperature sensor, part number 12001656. Thanks! Read More...
Marc September 24, 2011 for Model Number JJW9530CAB Hi. Over the past few weeks, the display on the wall oven has been getting dim. I can still see the time, although very dim and I can not see anything else in the display. Would this require the replacement of AP4089341? The oven functions fine otherwise.
1 Answer Hello Marc! It seems that the electronic control is shorting out and will need to be replaced. Your part number is WP71003424. Thanks. Read More...
Dan September 05, 2011 for Model Number JJW8527BAB Jennair wall mount stove Hello, My Jennair stove JJW8527BAB cooling fan will not turn off it remains running at all times that stove is powered. Stove operates, heats, cooks without any other issues. At this point I turn power on at breaker while stove is in use and turn breaker off when stove not in use. I have not seen any error codes. Will replacing the oven control board solve running fan issue or is something else the problem? Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Dan. You will need to ohm out the oven sensor 12001656. It should read around 1100 ohms at room temperature. If it is bad, it will cause the fan to run. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Kathy B August 24, 2011 for Model Number JJW9527AAW How do I check to make sure power is going to the oven control board?
1 Answer Hello Kathy. You can test the power wires coming to the control board WP71003424 for voltage. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter.
