Alice March 04, 2012 My drain hose calls for a 2 inch diameter standpipe but my standpipe is 1.5 inch diameter and there is considerable splashing. How can I correct this? Thank you.
1 Answer Hi Alice. By today's E.P.A. standards all pumps are high output types to get rid of as much water as possible as fast as possible. This means shorter drying cycle lenght's in the dryer. This equates to less energy consumption rates and lower operating cost. Having said all of this, you really need to get a qualified plumber to make necessary changes to your standpipe. It would be too easy for me to say to have you couple a Y-pipe onto the top of the standpipe along with a anti-siphoning valve so you can put it all together with the drain hose into the side inlet of the Y. The anti-siphon cap opens a diaphragm allowing air to enter when the drain is operating together. These plumbing adaptations have went on across the nation in the past 7-yrs since all upgrades to machines have made way... Thank You. Read More...
