Hello Linda, The agitator hasn't raised up but the inner tub has dropped. The spanner nut under the agitator has loosened and the tub has settled on the drive block, wallowing the center hole in the inner tub out too large for the drive block to properly support the tub. The drive block WP389140 and the inner tub W10389328 will probably have to be replaced to correct the issue.

Hi D.J. Block your unit up w a sturdy paint can or a couple of 4x4 wood blocks. Look up under the unit at the front of the pump. In the center area it is common that they begin to wear out through the front. Pump part # WP3363394. If you see the motor coupler has begun to wear out and there is black rubber and plastic parts under the center. The motor coupler is part # 285753A. Thank You.
