Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Washer Agitator (Part Number: OEM18040605)

1 Answer

Hello Joseph, The bottom end of the agitator that will work in model number 7EWTW1711YM0 is WP8578209. The splined shaft that it sits on is part of the gearcase assembly W11454741. We must again apologize for the compatibility tool. This is still in work and at this time it only recognizes the part numbers on the manufacturers' original parts list, even if the manufacturer is the one who changed the part number from the original part number for product improvement reasons. We are working on this and must request that you disregard the compatibility tool at this time. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Jim B for Model Number 110.26922500

Hi, I just purchased a new gear case from you, p/n AP3096209. The original part was a p/n 3360629 but you note that they are inter changable. After installing the new unit, I find that my agitator does not want to slip onto the splines at the top of the shaft. My agitator is marked p/n 8054351-white. Your part listings show the agitator as AP601353, and Sears currently shows WP8578209. It appears that I have a compatibility problem. What do you recommend? Thanks, Jim B.

Hello Jim. Sear shows WP8578210 as your agitator. Either one should fit the splines of the new transmission. Maybe your old one is damaged? You will need to order WP8578210 for the correct one.
