This is a switch membrane, also known as a keypad, that is used with ovens, ranges, and stoves. The part is located in the center of the front of the appliance. It is made up of several layers and acts as a switch to turn the appliance on and off. It also includes several buttons so users can choose cooking settings, set temperatures, and otherwise alter the operation of the appliance.Regular use or damage can cause the switch membrane to become damaged. When this occurs, the buttons may not work correctly or there may be no way to turn the appliance on and off. If this is the case with a switch membrane, it should be replaced. Unplug the appliance and remove the screws from the back. Find the tabs on the side and press them to remove the housing. Remove the bottom screws to take off the ribbon connector. Remove the original part and replace it with the OEM replacement component.Created for compatibility with KitchenAid ranges, ovens, and stoves, the switch membrane is sold as a single part. This is an authentic OEM replacement component that is sourced straight from the manufacturer.

Hello Harry. If you turn the breaker on and the oven automatically comes on, then the board is bad. If you press off, and the display still shows bake, it is the membrane.
