Brian Z October 27, 2018 for Model Number Kitchen Aid: KEBS177 Wire connection to one light ( left side) is broken and fixture is cracked, if I get a replacement socket how is it wired? Your answer to a previous similar question states is to pull the old wires from the rear of the unit. Is the wiring for the socket already mounted--I will need to splice the wires since I am unable to remove the oven. If I do splice them can a solderless connection be used if it is also shrouded in some heat resistant material or tape?
1 Answer Brian, The light assembly has the wires already connected to the socket and it is just plug and play. Read More...
Frank July 08, 2015 for Model Number ykebs107db2 How does one replace this part. Specifically how to replace the existing light assembly whose wire runs through the walls of the oven to the back without having to remove the walls of the oven which seems like a very difficult task..
1 Answer Hello Frank. REMOVING THE OVEN LIGHT ASSEMBLY (ONE ON EACH SIDE OF OVEN) Remove the electrical quick disconnect plug from the back. From the inside of the oven cavity unsnap the light lens and light bulb and snap the light assemble out and pull (fish) the wire harness from the back. Read More...
Phoward1 September 28, 2012 for Model Number KDRP487SS03 Bulbs are fine, I am sure it is the latch, how do I check to make sure before I buy the part.
1 Answer Hello Phoward1. If the bulbs are good, the switch can be tested for continuity. It should read closed with the door open. Also, test for 12 Volts coming to the bulb. If it is not there, replace the transformer WP9760587 on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
