Jerry July 16, 2016 $5.70 for a screw for dryer drum baffle? Seriously? I bought a package of six (6) at Home Depot for $1.18.
1 Answer Jerry, The manufacturer(s) set the price of the parts, not AppliancePartsPros.com. We do "mark up" the price, but it's usually below the MSRP. In most cases, except for "cosmetic" screws, they can be purchased at a local hardware store or home improvement center. We often times recommend that the screws be purchased in this manner to expedite the repair of a product. Read More...
Robyn April 29, 2016 I know that the baffles help loosen the clothing so they dry faster, but are they considered to be an intricate part of the heating cycle? my 18 year old KitchenAid gas dryer has had only 1 baffle for close to 10 years, if not over 10, and dries clothing very well. I am wondering this because of an difference of opinion of the repairman. thanks
1 Answer Robyn, Baffles are "an intricate part of the drying cycle" the purpose is to separate the articles and improve the drying process and performance. But the"drying process" is the same whether the baffles are there or not, ( the articles would take longer to dry without baffles). If an average sized load of clothes are taking 30 to 40 minutes(or less) to properly dry, then you're doing fine with one baffle. Read More...
Kay Berg September 08, 2015 for Model Number MDE3500AYW All was going well with my repair until I tried to replace the screws holding the baffle. Unlike in the video, the screws I received (Part 3400080) were not nuts but Philips screws. They were also impossible to screw in completely using a manual screwdriver. Are these the wrong screws or do I need to use a power driver to get them fastened?
1 Answer Hello Kay. W11684512 are the screws you need for the baffles. Make sure your using a number 2 Phillips to install them. Read More...
Donna April 19, 2015 for Model Number MDE7758AYQ I need to replace one of the baffles in our dryer. I am not sure if they are all supposed to be the same size or 2 shorter & taller and 1 longer & shorter ? We have replaced one before but I'm not sure if it was the right one for our dryer model. Also the screws are still in the drum and seem to be ok. Do I need to order additional screws also? Thanks for your help
1 Answer Dona, your model uses two tall WP33002032 and one short WP33001755 baffle. You shouldn't need screws unless the current ones are missing or damaged. Thanks. Read More...
