Jon April 02, 2011 for Model Number Maytag Epic Z MHWZ400TQ01 I have a 2 inch rip in the door seal on the bottom of the front bellow tub seal. Can I turn the seal & rip to the top?? Or are there tubes that need a hole through the bellows that would make that not work??
1 Answer Hello Jon. The door seal is designed to drain back into the tub. Turning the seal would not work and could cause a bad leak. It is recommended that you replace the door boot seal. The correct part number for you model MHWZ400TQ01 is WPW10111435. Hope this helps. Read More...
Sandy March 27, 2011 for Model Number GHW9100LW1 when replacing the bellow - the gray part that fits around the water inlet, does the flap go inside or outside? That is what looks wrong with the current bellow - it is leaking from a small tear at the water inlet on the bellow.
Volleyballmom March 25, 2011 for Model Number GHW9100LW1 Is replacing the bellow difficult? I had a repair guy who wants to come out $40 to come to house, $110 for part and then labor - he said about an hour or more - he said bill would be $200-$250 all said and done. I have replaced heating coil on dryer, have done minor things on washing machine (cleaned drain in front, etc). Do you think this is something I can do?
1 Answer Volleyballmom, Replacing the bellow is an involved repair, more frustrating and time consuming than anything else. But I would think you can handle it, with what you've already done. You have the correct part numberWP8181850 it involves removing both front panels, the top of the cabinet and console, just to access the bellow for removal and replacement. We're here to help you through the repair should you decide to attempt it. Thanks for contacting us. Read More...
Gary S March 12, 2011 for Model Number ghw9150pwo I have a whirlpool duet washing machine. Im trying to install the door boot seal. However I cannot get the front panal off. There are 4 screws 2 on top, and 2 on the bottom. I cannot locate the 2 top screws. Please help. Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Gary. You will need to remove the top of the machine, and the control panel, and the dispenser to access these screws. They are located under the control panel. It is alot easier to remove the dispenser and cross bar, when changing out the boot. Hope this helps. Read More...
