The Latch Bolt is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool dishwashers. This component is essential for securing the dishwasher door during operation, ensuring that it remains tightly closed to prevent water leaks and allow the dishwasher to run properly. The latch bolt engages with the door latch assembly, creating a secure seal.

Causes of a bad latch bolt can include regular wear and tear, damage from forceful closing of the dishwasher door, or misalignment that affects the latch's engagement.

Symptoms of a bad Latch Bolt include:

  • The dishwasher door not staying closed
  • Water leaking from the door during operation
  • Difficulty in latching or unlatching the door
  • The dishwasher not starting because it detects an open door

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Hello Dan. There is no spring. You need to check the tabs and see if any are broken. Also, you can try using a small amount of white lithium grease to lubricate the latch on the unit.

Hi Stellam. The door latch is part # WP3380854. Bolt, Latch - Lever not included. For black lever order WP3369457. For white use WP3369457. For biscuit use 3375062. You carefully inspect the door latch /striker area to see why this area has broken. Door Latch Issue : You remove power. Then you get a Torx- 20 size screwdriver to remove the inner panel. Then you will simply pull the latch system off the back side of the console. At this point it simply "sits" in place between The 2- left and right bosses that accept the round side post on the side of the latch body. Unfortunately 90% of the time the back of the console is broken, part # W10811156 . This is caused by the installation may have been incorrect. Remove the lower kick p-late and use a flashlight to see if the back legs are all on the floor snugly. If you have the installation guide it will show how to use a torpedo level and remove the rack. Then place the level on the side support rail to see if the unit is level front to back. Then put the level on the inside of the door panel at the lowest side for the horizontal side to side level. This will allow proper alignment of the door ( a separate part) to the cabinet area. While the unit is full of hot water and dishes, it will "relax" the tub. If the legs are not positioned correctly, this will allow the door and latch area to misaligned and break both the console and the latch itself. So by correcting the level , this will allow the parts to last longer. Thank You.
