Chris August 20, 2025 for Model Number mvwc465hw3 Washer makes loud clunk/click noise when agitator moves during wash cycle like center moving clothes around and during test mode of system. No other issues. Finishes wash cycle like normal and clothes are ready for dryer. Just makes loud clicking/clunk noise. Is the culprit the clutch assembly?
1 Answer Chris, Thank you for your question. You would want to check the pulley at the bottom of the tub and make sure that everything is tight together. It is likely that this could cause the issue. Also, check to make sure that there is no problem with the agitator as well. Read More...
Bill August 04, 2025 for Model Number WTW4900BW0 Our washing machine has been getting loud during the spin cycle. My washer works fine and goes through all the cycles. But, when it gets to the spin cycle, it sounds like a jet taking off.
1 Answer Hello Bill, and thank you for your post. This is a classic sign of the gearcase bearings W11454372 beginning to fail and needing replacement. Read More...

John March 26, 2025 for Model Number MVWP575GW0 Im trying to find the size nut that goes on the drive clutch kit. I watched a couple of the videos and it dosent specify. Somehow in disassembly and reassembly this single piece got lost/ thrown out. Oops.
1 Answer John, unfortunately, the manufacturer is not identifying the thread size or type used with the 1/2" nut of the drive clutch kit W10721967. As this is the case, we would not be able to identify the threads. Read More...
Mayito January 28, 2025 for Model Number Mvwc416fw1 Washer spins but the clothes are still soaking wet
1 Answer Mayito, the washer may need to be checked to see if it has a stored error code in the diagnostic mode. If there is not an error code, the belt W11239857 may need to be inspected to identify if it is slipping and the drive hub W10528947 would need to be inspected for any damage. If these things check good, it is likely that the main control W11162436 would be the cause of failure. Read More...
Roy October 02, 2024 for Model Number NTW4516FW3 Can I oil or grease the pulleys on thisachine. It squeaks in one direction of agitation only.
1 Answer Hello Roy, thank you for contacting APP, We do not recommend to grease or oil the pulleys as this may cause slippage. If you are getting a squeak in agitation this may be due to overloading, a belt that is beginning to wear, worn pulleys, body panels that may not be fully secured, or another issue. Read More...
Clark June 21, 2024 for Model Number wtw5800bco the agitator only moves 2-3 degrees in each direction while washing. Not moving clothes hardly at all. I have replaced the Shift Actuator 1 year ago (new one made loud clicks between cycles but work fine) and the gear box about 6 months ago. Not sure if I need the clutch kit or a new shift actuator? Confused because agitator does move in both directions.
1 Answer Hello Clark, thank you for contacting APP, Most likely this issue is being caused by the Drive Clutch W10721967. If the Shift Actuator WPW10006355 is activating and you are hearing that loud click as it changes position it is most likely fine. One thing you can do is tilt the unit back, disconnect the shift actuator and manually move the cam loop that the shifter's "finger" was sitting in to spin and agitation positions. In spin position the tub and agitator will move together, in agitation the tub and agitator will move independently of each other. The age of the Gearcase W11454372 makes it unlikely to be the cause of the issue, but there is a chance that it has failed if you cannot get the agitator and basket to move independently of each other regardless of the clutch position, but I would recommend the Clutch first.
