This channel retainer secures the appliance's front/side panel to the cabinet so panels stay aligned and stable during use. It replaces a worn or broken retainer to reduce panel movement and rattling. What it does:

  • Holds the panel channel in place to keep exterior panels aligned
  • Prevents panel looseness, shifting, and vibration noise during operation
  • Restores proper fit where a cracked or broken retainer allowed gaps
  • Works as a direct-fit replacement for the OEM channel retainer
What's included:
  • One channel retainer as shown
Install notes:
  • Inspect surrounding clips and screws; replace any damaged fasteners for best fit
  • Use basic hand tools; avoid over-tightening fasteners which can crack plastic retainers
  • Disconnect power (or unplug) the appliance before accessing panels

For Whirlpool Channel Retainer (Panel) (Part Number: OEM18024585)

Julie R. for Model Number DU8770XB1

Appliance repair guy told me I needed a kick plate for my dishwasher (he was at my house fixing my clothes dryer). Year ago my boys ran thru the house and kicked it. it was hanging by a thread and one day I just took it off and tossed it. I covered the area w/ black duct tape so the wires wouldnt be exposed and for cosmetic purposes. I looked on your site and saw the "toe panel" which looks like what I need, plus front access panel. My question is, will the toe panel come with any hardware or trim to attach it to the dishwasher and to the access panel? Also, will I need to order any other parts for that area of the dishwasher? Any help would be appreciated. I cant afford a new dishwasher yet, was hoping to make this one look better.

Julie, the kick plate is part number WP3379920. It includes the insulation however, it does not include the screws, part number WP302868. The access panel is part number WP3369193. It uses the same screws for installation as the kick plate. Thanks.

Hello Sandra, This part can help in some cases but, most of the time a spray arm is separating, holes in the spray arm are stopped up, or the unit has been over soaped. Of course you can inspect the spray arms for food particles and separations, but to check for an over soap condition, you have to start a cycle with no soap and no dishes. Let it fill with water and circulate the water for 1 to 2 minutes. Open the door and wait 20 seconds. Now after 20 seconds any bubbles present will be soap bubbles. If this is the case, the situation can be cleared with a sanitation cycle.

Bill, Here's the information you 're interested in. "To change door panel color NOTE: The opposite side of the door color panel is a different color. 1 Insert fingerunder one end-of retainer and pull towards you in a peeling action. Set retainer aside. 2. Lift door panels at outer edges. Use one hand to bow bottom of panel. Remove panel(s). Do Not remove spacer. 3. Insert one side of door(s),with desired color facing out, into one sideof the door frame. 4. Bow door panel(s) and insert otherside of door panel(s) into door frame. 5 Push in on door panel(s) near the top and slide panel(s) and spacer up inside bottom of control console, allowing panel(s) to rest on channel at bottom of door. 6 Snap one end of retainer into W channel as shown. Push inward while sliding thumb along full length of retainer. 7 Check door for proper operation. Door should close easily without slamming and open with its own weight. Damn Dogs, Based on your post description you're needing two parts: the retainer strip 3374011 and the retainer channel WP3374716 to repair the door trim properly. Thanks and Good Luck
