Pat K November 26, 2012 for Model Number Whirlpool dishwasher w10073320 Dishwasher Drains very slowly. Even on drain cycle, flows slowly. Since it doesn't drain properly, dishes come out dirty. Checked the line, no obstructions. Do you suggest removing and checking drain check valve next? Thank You

Kerry November 25, 2012 for Model Number 665.15982990 I have replaced the impeller, and all gaskets - including the pump tub gasket and my Kenmore dishwasher is still leaking around the black plastic piece that the check valve screws into. The check valve has a black flapper (preventing backflow), a small wing and an O ring that all look to be in good shape. What else could be making it leak...?
1 Answer Kerry, The Check valve assembly 675238 is screwed into the pump base 675238, You'll need to check and make sure the pump base is not cracked or damaged, and that you have not overtightenned the check valve, when you installed it. Read More...

Eric July 14, 2012 Dishwasher will not drain. Disconnect the hose and it is clear. Removed the drain check value and inside the fit all most perfectly was a check ball, found on a previous parts diagram. Is this supposed to be inside the check valve, if not where does the check ball go?
1 Answer Hello Eric. The check ball floats inside the sump assembly and will rest on the front side where the check valve port is located. Read More...
James May 19, 2012 for Model Number DU980QPDQ4 I am ordering a new drain hose assembly AP3083678. The/both clamps look good. Do I need anything else other than the hose? Do I need a new Drain Check Valve also AP2910020?? Is it a good idea anyway? System is 1998, works great. Thanks, James
1 Answer Hello James. If the check valve 675238 is working, it should be fine. If you want to replace it to be sure, it would not hurt anything. Read More...
Joel March 14, 2012 for Model Number 665.15639000 The water is not completely draining from the tub after each cycle change. So I end up rinsing my dishes with dirty soapy water, and when it's done there is still a lot of water left in the bottom. I can get the water to drain completely by pressing the Cancel/Drain button one or two extra times. The drain hose is not clogged, I've checked it twice. What controls how the water is drained? Is it the float or is there a timer or something else?
1 Answer Hello Joel. You will need to remove the drain hose WP3374077 from the sump assembly and snake it out. It sounds like it is almost completely clogged. The control times the drain time and the float is good on the unit. The problem is in the drain hose, or the pump on the dishwasher. Most of the time, it is the drain hose giving the issues. Hope this helps. Read More...

John June 29, 2011 for Model Number DU948PWPQ0 Dishwasher is not draining. Pump is working in both wash and drain cycle. When I open the door during a drain cycle, I can see water coming out of the bottom wash arm, so would this be a symptom of a plugged drain hose? Drain hose is not plugged at garbage disposal and I can see a trickle of water coming out of the garbage disposal. Is the check valve a likely culprit, or could there be another issue?
1 Answer Hello John. It sounds like the drain hose is clogged. You will need to remove the drain hose from the pump assembly and the garbage disposal. Then clear the clogg out of the drain hose WP3374077. You can try blowing air through the drain hose to make sure it is clear. Hope this helps. Read More...
Butch May 11, 2011 for Model Number DU8350XT Thank you for your previous answer. Is the drain pump and washing pump the same unit? The dishwasher goes through the wash cycle cleaning the dishes, but it doesn't drain at the end of the wash cycle. Where do I place the probes to check the continuity of the pump? Do I have to pull the dishwasher out and flip it over to get access to the pump motor? Thank you again.
1 Answer Hello Butch. You will need to check across grey and white at the pump when in drain mode and see if there is 120 volts. If not, the timer is bad. If there is power, but the unit is not draining, the pump is bad. You will need to pull the unit out enough to access the wiring connector. Hope this helps. Read More...
Butch May 11, 2011 for Model Number DU8350XT My dishwasher will not drain. When the pump tries to cut on, it makes a clicking sound once but nothing happens. The drain pump is not activating. What could be causing this? Could it be the check valve? Could it be the motor relay?
1 Answer Hello Butch. You will need to check and make sure the pump and drain hose is not clogged. If they are clear, you will need to check and see if power is coming to the pump. If there is power there, but the pump does not run, then the pump is bad. You can test this with a multi-meter MA-DM1. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter.
