W.P. September 30, 2014 for Model Number DU920PWKB0 Why is my door still leaking at the bottom after I have replaced it with a new door gasket?
1 Answer Hello W.P., You need to check the spray arms for separations and/or clogged holes. These things will put a "wave" in the water and cause it to slosh out over the front of the tub. Also check the feed tube in the rear where the upper rack couples with the feed tube for the center spray arm. Read More...
Mike July 07, 2014 for Model Number 66516765691 My check valve does not have a threaded end on it, I notice the replacement does, the one I have has a flat surface with an o ring where threads are on the replacement, it looks like the one I have was possibly glued. does that sound correct or am I missing?
1 Answer Hello Mike. The unit has to have threads. It is possible they are either stripped off there or the threaded piece is broke off inside the opening on the sump. There should be no glue used. Read More...
Joe March 17, 2014 for Model Number gld4100loobb My dishwasher suddenly collects water when I drain the sink. Do you think this could be the check valve? Any suggestions as to the cause of the problem?
1 Answer Hello Joe. It does sound like the flapper valve WD01X10175 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
James March 09, 2014 for Model Number 154608701 Nasty water collects into the bottom of the dishwasher. Do not use because of this and it stinks. Routed drain hose up high and has a loop but water still drains back into the dishwasher. Removed and cleared hose and cleaned around flapper near the motor. How can I install an in-line check valve to prevent?

Tony March 02, 2014 for Model Number Whirlpool Imperial dishwaser We have an 11 year old dishwasher that wont drain. I have pulled the check valve and cleaned it, but the washer still fills with water. Reading help sites it seems like there might be something missing on my valve. Is there anything inside besides a rubber flap? Other than that, when running, it seems like there isn't enough pressure to evacuate the water, the drain line has water and air sloshing back and forth. The line is clear. The motor is running and spraying, but does seem to hum oddly. Any suggestions?
1 Answer Tony, Check and make sure the drain system and disposal are not clogged or restricted. The "flapper' is the only thing inside the check valve assembly. It should flip open when the dishwasher drains and remain closed when washing or off. You may want to disconnect the drain hose from the plumbing under the sink, fill the dishwasher, then drain it, to see if the water evacuates properly(less than 60 seconds). You most likely have a damaged drain impeller 675806 or something in the pump housing, and will need to dismantle the pump and check. Read More...
Elizabeth December 02, 2013 for Model Number Whirlpool model shu3004-1 The dishwasher will not drain, but the motor has a low pitched hum when it gets to that function. The dishwasher goes through all the other cycles okay. Will a check valve replacement allow the machine to drain? And if so, is this accessible if you pull out the machine from under the right side? I'm guessing it just screws off, is that right? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Elizabeth. Check and see if something has the impeller jammed or if the drain hose or check valve is clogged. If not, the motor is bad. The motor has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part. Read More...
Whirlpool July 02, 2013 Water comes right out of the check valve when we start the dishwasher. Is there a pop out disk in the valve?

Bob May 16, 2013 for Model Number Whilpool DU930PWKQO Hi, I noticed with the drain hose off, water leaks out of the check valve after the fill cycle. The tank water level will be low after the wash cycle and the heating element is still hot. Is this from a defective check valve? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Bob, The purpose of the check valve is to prevent the sink water from entering the dishwasher. The leak you are describing is going the opposite direction. The water should not leave the dishwasher if the drain line is properly elevated to the bottom of the countertop before connecting to the drain as the installation instructions direct. The issue you described sounds much more like a failing water valve W10844024. Read More...
Mark V. March 28, 2013 for Model Number SHU30041 I was trying to fix a drain problem and unscrewed the 4 screws that go through the "support, pump mounting" bushings. part number 14. I ended up screwing them back in, since I realized that I didn't need to unscrew them, but they don't really screw in that well and some of them seem to be stripped. Anyway, after clearing the drain check valve, and turning on the machine, it's leaking all over the place. I suspect that I broke a seal when I removed those 4 screws. What should I do? Also, do I need to have the spray arm re-attached before I test things out? Perhaps that's why it was leaking. Thanks! Mark
1 Answer Hello Mark, Those screws thread into the plastic pump housing. They are important and the unit will leak profusely if not properly tightened. Since the holes they thread into are stripped, this unit cannot be repaired since the pump assembly and its' individual components, I'm sorry to say, are no longer available. Read More...
Dennis March 12, 2013 for Model Number DU945PWKQ1 Similar to a previous question about not draining as it should, but pressing cancel/drain a few times after cycle drains it. I disconnected hose from pump and it was clear. Inserted a piece of copper wire into 'Check Valve', from both ends to check for obstruction. Just where the check ball before the drain hole, I discovered a black rubber ring with the center of it solid and a white piece of plastic that appeared to fit over the solid center piece. I never noticed this before, so I can only assume it came from within the 'Check Valve'. Is this a correct assumption and if so what is it? I ran a cycle and it appears to be draining okay now. Have I ripped this piece out of the 'Check Valve'? Does the 'Check Valve' have to bereplaced?
