Barbara May 30, 2024 for Model Number MDB7600AWB My dishwasher lets food particles all over the dishes. I rinse all my dishes, but they still have pieces of food on them even after a 2 hour cycle. How can I fix this?
1 Answer Hello Barbara, thank you for contacting APP,There are a few things that can be done to help with the wash performance of the unit:Be sure that we are running water at the nearest source to the unit, such as the faucet, until it becomes hot. This will purge the lines of cold water and assist the unit’s performance. Ideally, the hot water coming into the unit should be about 120°F.Verify that we are using the proper amount of detergent for the area’s water. Soft Water requires less detergent, where as if you have Hard Water it will require more detergent. We would also recommend to use Rinse Aid if you have Neutral to Hard Water to assist in the cleaning process. Additionally, if using liquid or powdered detergents, make sure we are not using “old” detergent that may have become caked, whether due to actual age or exposure to the air around it.It may be that the unit needs to be cleaned out to remove any built-up detergent residue that may be impacting the performance of the unit, we can also check the fill level of the unit at the same time. Run a Normal cycle without any items in the unit, after the unit stops filling add 1-2 cups of white vinegar to the water in the unit, then close the door and allow the unit to continue its cycle, let the unit complete the cycle. While the door is open, after the initial fill, verify that the fill level of the unit is correct, it should be about level with the heating element in the bottom of the tub. Read More...
Ralph February 21, 2012 for Model Number mdbh940awb I had to replace the wash impeller. I noticed the chopper was chewed up on one side. My chopper blade has 2 notches coming off the center hole. Is the plastic piece it sits on supposed to have matching notches sticking up that the chopper blade slips over? If so, mine are broken off with just a remnant remaining. The blade doesn't really "seat". It just kind of sits there loose. Also, can I put everything back together and still use the dishwasher with or without the chopper blade installed? We dont plan on letting food go into the dishwasher from now on. Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Ralph. I strongly recommend against modifying the design by leaving out the chopper blade assembly. Without the blade, small food particles will clog the screen. I recommend replacement of the pump seal kit WP6-919539 which will provide you with the proper ridges which mesh with the chopper balde for normal operation. Hope this helped! Read More...
