Hdyspn September 05, 2011 for Model Number Maytag gas wall oven CWG3100AE My 10yr old Maytag wall oven turns on and works for about 10minutes, then it beeps and gives F5 error. per manual, we reset the oven and then it beeps and gives F3 error. F5 is code for electronic range control, and F3 is code for oven temp sensor. The clock, timer and all the up, down arrows work on the control pad. How do I know Which part needs repair and can we do it ourselves? We don't have oven technicians where I live.
1 Answer Hello Hdyspn. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the oven sensor 12001655 is bad and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps. Read More...
Mr Don August 03, 2011 for Model Number CWG3100AAE Gas oven repair for maytag oven cwg3100aae. After a bad storm (not a power surge)alot of electrical appliancese broke. My matage oven was one of the items. The digital clock wont work ethier. The only thing working is the light. Do you think I need a new clock assy? Do you think thats the problem? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Mr. Don. Test and see if there is power coming to the clock assembly. If so, and the clock does not work, you will need to replace the clock assembly 12001620. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Manuel S. July 21, 2011 for Model Number CWG3600AAB My Oven reads F3 I would like to know what that means.
1 Answer Hello Manuel. The F3 code is for the oven temperature sensor 12001655. You will need to test and see if it read around 1100 ohms at room temperature and around 1650 ohms at 350°. If it is out of range, you will need to replace the oven temperature sensor. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter.
