Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Range Electronic Control Board (Part Number: OEM18070041)

Darrin, with the bake cycle started and the gas supply turned off, the spark module W10860916 would need to be tested for 120VAC from connection J1 pin 6 to pin 4. If there is voltage present, and the burners are clean, the spark module would be the cause of failure. If there is not voltage present, the most likely cause of failure would be the main control W10885069.

Frank for Model Number WEG730H0DS0

The gas range oven control screen is blank. I believe the unit has 120 power: The igniters work for the surface burners. We can hear beeps when buttons are pushed on the control panel. The oven light turns off and on. We tried activating and deactivating the energy saver option and nothing still shows up on the screen. But we can turn on the screen lock which turns off the beeping when the buttons are pushed. The beeps return when the screen lock is turned off. What part has failed and can I replace it? Thanks. Frank

Hello Frank, thank you for contacting APP, It sounds like the Display Board WPW10603098 is experiencing connection issues to the Main Control W11050551, the Display Board has failed, the Display Harness W11176109 has failed, or the Main Control has failed. Due to the fact that the Keypad and Main Control seem to be functional, I would suspect connection or harness issues, or that the display itself has failed. Unplug the unit and access the Display Board and Main Control, disconnect the harness running between the 2 and inspect it for any damage or corrosion, replace harness if damaged or corroded, and then reconnect the harness securely to each. If the display is still not working replace the Display Board.

Curtis, thank you for your question. As the entire cooktop is not working but the oven is, the most likely cause of failure would be in the main wire harness W11188439. With the power supply cord unplugged, the L1 and L2 supply wires to the infinite switches can be tested for continuity from the terminal block at the back of the appliance to the switches. If there is not continuity on one of the wires, the wire has a break and is preventing the cooktop from operating.

Rick, the range would need to be tested to identify if there is 120VAC reaching the appliance. If there is voltage, the wires at the main control W10885069 would need to be checked for any damage or loose connections. If the wires check ok, the main control would be the most likely cause of failure.

Craig, the error F1E0 would be in reference to the main control W11050557 failing. To access it after unplugging the range power cord, three screws on the bottom of the user panel would need to be removed and the lower panel pulled away. From there, there will be two screws (one on each side) securing the user panel to the range body. Once unscrewed, the console should lift up and out after unplugging the wire connections (it is recommended that pictures are taken of how the wires are connected). On each side of the front and the back, there will be a screw securing the cooktop to the frame as well that would need to be taken out, allowing the maintop to lift up and be moved out of the way. This will grant access to the main relay control.
