Melp April 19, 2020 for Model Number MGDC215EW1 Went on long vacation. Left gas valve on. When I returned no odor in house. Turned on dryer. Seems to run and heat OK but terrible rotten egg odor while running. Shut off main gas valve, disconnected vent. No odor when running. Vent totally clean. Do I have a gas valve inside the dryer that is leaking?

Michael August 22, 2018 for Model Number WGD9750WW2 I have a whirlpool duet gas dryer. Had them sitting for a while in storage and recently hooked them up but no heat. The drum turns just fine. I took off the front panel and started it. I can see it light up but no flame and it shuts off after a few seconds.
1 Answer Michael, If you have just moved the unit you can check the igniter for 3 to 3.5 amps.It needs this to open the gas valve.Your ignitor will still glow with less amps but not open.Part# 279311 is igniter and if you have the correct amp draw them your coils would be your problem part # WPW10328463. Curt September 06, 2017 for Model Number WGD4800XQ1 This dryer starts, no heat the igniter will not come on I don't hear valves opening, I ohmed the igniter & the flame sensor they are fine. I hooked my volt meter to wire feeding igniter & have no power going thru it when I start dryer. where else do i need to check?
