Jim B August 15, 2015 for Model Number KitchenAid KUIS18NNTS2 Icemaker Icemaker will run then shutdown for a while, then startup again. and shut down again after awhile. When the unit shuts down, all power to the controls is lost including the bin light. Do you think this a faulty start relay and overload combo device, or is this a faulty compressor triggering the overload protection? The unit was working good and making lots of ice until this problem. When the unit comes back on the compressor is working and the evaporator gets cold, and tries to make ice. I noticed that the evaporator plate has a brownish stain on the face that hasn't been there upon previous cleaning. The stain is similar to an over heating color.
1 Answer Jim, The entire unit shutting down, including lights would not be caused by a overheating issue of the compressor overload tripping. This issue would more likely be caused by a faulty control board or a wire harness issue. Read More...
Rick June 14, 2015 for Model Number FGHC2331PF5 Fan runs, compressor not kicking in. Both freezer and refrigerator showing increasing temperatures. Originally noticed water underneath, gasket sweating. Compressor has gray attachment to side. Variable speed perhaps?
1 Answer Hello Rick, You are correct. The inverter board 241577505 controls the speed of the compressor depending on the amount of temperature called for. Read More...
Asim November 29, 2013 for Model Number KUIC15PRXS0 I've replace the level sensor, the circulating pump, reservoir drain pump and the control board, but I still have issues. The icemaker will fill the reservoir, but then it will click away and the bin light will flash on and off and sometimes the recirculating pump will turn on, other times the unit will reset itself or even shut-off? Could this relay be causing those issues?
