If you press Cancel the 2 dashes go out, press Cancel again and the 2 dashes come back on, with the other lights still blinking. If open the door and close it the number 2 flashes for a second in the center display.

Harry February 13, 2012 for Model Number GU1500XTLB1 I have a whirlpool GU1500XTLB1 dishwasher. When you press "normal" the two dashes come on the display, but do not move. After a short time the display shuts off. The door switches are both good. I have checked control buttons as described using the diode setting and they all test ok. But in normal operation when you press the buttons not all the lights come on. Do I have a bad control circuit board or push button unit?
1 Answer Hello Harry. If you have two dashes in the display, you will need to replace the door switches WP8269209 on the unit. If the switches are good, then the latch may not be working properly and you will need to adjust the latch. Lou L. August 14, 2011 for Model Number GU1500XTLQ0 There is a mylar (thin plastic)decal that fits over the control panel. It tells you what function each button does. I need that plastic decal. I called and was told I had to purchase the whole door and the single part was not available. That seems a bit silly that I should have to make a $200 + purchases for an inexpensive piece of plastic. Even if you give me the name of the company who makes the control panel I will be happy to contact them with hopes to purchase the part from them. I hope you can help and restore my faith in Whirlpool. Thanks
