John M Lillian , AL July 31, 2016 Appliance: Model KUDK031TBS3 Kitchenaid dishwasher would not complete wash cycle This was a difficult problem to diagnose. Because the machine would start the wash cycle then shut down after a few minutes of running, it appeared that the cause might be a bad thermostat or heating element, but all checked out ok. That led me to believe that the control panel may be the culprit but it also appeared to be working correctly when I ran the diagnostics program. A visual examination of the components found that the door switch electrical connections looked discolored, so I removed and tested it. It tested ok but seemed to be a bit hard to make operate, so I temporarily wired the switch out of the circuit and ran the machine. It worked perfectly. I ordered a new switch, installed it, reset the machine programing and all is now well. Apparently the machine firmware program checks the door switch for closure periodically during the wash and dry cycle. The defective door switch checked out ok at startup, but not during the wash cycle and shut down the machine. Paul B Woodstock , GA October 25, 2014 Appliance: KitchenAid Undercounter Dishwasher KUDR01TJBL1 Broken door latch I ordered the door latch and started to replace it. When I removed the door switch it flew apart and I couldn't figure out how to put it back together. Lesson learned: be very careful when you remove the door switch. It's spring loaded. I ordered a new switch and spring here. The door switch was easy to install following the video on this site. The spring didn't fit onto the latch assembly as shown in the video. The attachment points weren't the same. I found an alternate way to make it work by attaching the spring to the attachment points on the center of the latch itself. Stephen K Castorland , NY April 05, 2018 Appliance: Whirlpool Undercounter Dishwasher GU2455XTSS0 Dishwasher not responding to any input control panel was not working no response when you pushed any button With help and information on your website, there were three parts that could possibly be causing the malfunction of my dishwasher… the control panel, thermal fuse, and/or door switches. This has been an awesome dishwasher that has never given us any problems, has a very fast wash cycle, is fairly quiet and gets the dishes very clean and dry. Even though it’s 11 years old, I want to keep it running as long as possible and financially feasible. For these reasons, I decided to get all three parts and do a process of elimination (although I was sure it was the control panel as my electrical troubleshooting told me). I figured in the least that if these were the three common parts that eventually go out, I would have them all replaced and get a few more years out of the dishwasher. Parts ordered Thursday, arrived Monday packaged very well. Installed new control panel, put everything back together and turned the power back on… nothing. That was surprising, though for sure it was the control panel. Disassembled and installed the thermal fuse. Reassembled, power back on and “bingo” all was working. Disassembled and installed the two door switches for good measure. Reassembled and have done several wash cycles… working perfectly! Your website is very comprehensive and filled with information, technical instruction and parts for every job. Thank you very much for the guidance and fast shipping!
