Rob H. May 04, 2015 for Model Number KSRS25RVMS02 Freezer compartment getting too warm during defrost cycle. Gets warm enough to melt an ice cube so it's at least 33°F. I replaced the bi-metal thermostat 2 days ago but the problem persists. I ran the built in diagnostic program to check out the freezer thermistor and it checks out OK (I don't think it has anything to do with the defrost cycle though). I now suspect that the Electronic Control Board is the problem. It is probably running the defrost cycle longer than the designed 25 minutes, or is pulsing the heater longer than the 1 minute on, 2 minutes off design parameter. Any suggestions or comments? If you are of the opinion that this particular brand of refrigerator is a piece of junk that's not worth repairing, please let me know. Although I'd rather not spend $2,000 on a new unit, it's better than constantly worrying about the safety of our food.
