This is a Whirlpool washer control board. This is the main control board behind the user interface, not to be confused with the motor control board located within the body of the washer. This part controls the main functions of the washer and toggles between different cycles. Certain functions may become unavailable intermittently when the main control board loses function. The washer may also continue to spin, not following the regular timeline of the cycle.Start the repair by pulling the control knob from the front of the washer. Pull the washer out from the wall to access the rear panel. Remove the screws from the back panel, and push back on the control panel while sliding a flat head under the right corner to release the mounting clip. Repeat this on the left side, and the central console should pull free. Release the clips for the wire harness and remove the air hose from the control board. Remove the mounting screws and pull the control board from its protective console. Reverse this process to install the new component. This product is a genuine OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer. This part is compatible with Whirlpool, Maytag, and JennAir appliances.

For Whirlpool Washer Control Board (Part Number: OEM18019011)

Dave, We no longer have a diagram / schematic, but if we remember correctly the Z2 circuit is related to the fill valve. You'll need to check the solenoids and wiring to the fill valve, especially the neutral and grounding wires. With the damaged tracers, especially the lower four tracers, you'll need to replace the control board, and check the wire harness connection pins to make sure they're not loose or dislodged and making contacts on two tracers,

Anne, The issue with the water flowing from the bottom of the door would most likely be caused by a door boot seal that is bad. As for the hot water not coming in on the selected temperature, this would most likely be caused by a faulty temp switch or control board. We would need to have the serial number of the unit to supply any part numbers.

Hello Bryan. If you can stop the water from entering the machine by turning off the timer or unplugging the unit, you will need to look for a bad pressure hose or replace the pressure switch. If the only way to shut off the water is at the shut off for the water hoses, you will need to replace the water valve in the unit.

Bill for Model Number mah4000aww

I replaced bad wax motor (purchased from you're company) installed and washer now operates but at end of cycle timer goes to stop position, door lock light does not go out also light that indicates machine is not done is still on. Door stays locked and machine rolls drum back and forth every so often. I start/stop button and door still locked, manually unlock door with cord and found clothes washed properly and water pumped out of drum. Would this be anything other than control board?

Bill, You will want to check the control board and make sure that the R11 resistor is not burnt. If the R11 resistor is burnt then replace the control board.

Hello Marco, As per the tech sheet: • Check for restricted drain system. • In cold climates check for frozen drain hose. • Check for 120Vac at the pump when a spin cycle is selected. • Check pump motor winding resistance. Normal resistance is about 14.2 ohms (±7%). • Check that the machine control correctly senses the water level in the washer. See Board Input Test. • Check drain pump. See Board Output Test. • Check the machine control board connections at CN10 (Pin 6) for the pump. Should see 120Vac. • Check tub to pump hose for twist in hose. Considering the description given, it sounds like a poor electrical connection or a board issue.

Hello George, It will take the unit several minutes to lock the door but once locked, it should remain locked unless the unit is stopped or the cycle is completed.

Hello Mike, This will be one of two issues: the black and grey wires are switched on the machine control board line relay or the contacts in the line relay have welded shut. This line relay is the black box with two wire terminals on it on the far right of the machine control board that is in the control panel. It is just to the left of the power transformer. The black wire should be connected to the terminal marked "COM" and the grey wire should be connected to the "NO" terminal. If they are swapped, this powers the machine without the control having to energize the line relay. If the contacts are stuck, the board WP22002989 will have to be replaced to correct the issue.
