Jennie August 21, 2012 for Model Number mdb6759awsi I have a Maytag dishwasher that is not even 3 years old. Last week it would start just by closing the door. This week I can push all the cycle buttons and they light up but the start just flashes and does not start. Do I need the control panel [ap43780848] or the control board WPW10235721
1 Answer Hello Jennie, The control panel WPW10235721 is at fault if there are no bad connections. I would open the door panel before ordering anything and remove the ribbon cable. Using a pencil eraser, rub the ribbon cable only in the direction the traces run to prevent damaging the traces. Re-install the ribbon cable and re-try the unit. If the problem is gone, you have repaired the unit with no parts. If the problem still exists, the issue is going to be the control panel. The only way I would say the problem is in the control WPW10235721 is if moisture has gotten into the board area and the ribbon connections have corroded. This would necessitate the replacement of both components. Read More...

Bill D. July 12, 2012 for Model Number mdb6759aws2 The dishwasher starts when ever the door is closed. If I leave the door open, the start light flashes. When I hit the cancel button, it goes out but for only about 2 minutes and comes right back to start. It starts when ever the door is closed. Would this be the control board or control panel?

Randy May 31, 2012 for Model Number MDB6759AWS3 On the touchpanel the tough scrub plus, hi temp wash, and sanitize buttons are lit up. These buttons are the only ones that will light up. When we push start, the wash cycle never starts. I think I need to replace the touchpanel, but I hate to order the part if that isn't the problem. Does anyone know what is wrong?

Don January 04, 2012 for Model Number MDB6759AWW2 For about 2 weeks: The wash cycle could be selected (Heavy, Normal, etc) as indicatd by the light next to the button being lit. But the dishwashwer would not start when the start button was pressed. Occasionally the Start Button light & Cycle light would flash on and off. Often the dishwasher would start hours later. The Cancel/Drain button always works. Currently, the dishwasher will not start, no more flashing lights, did not start unexpectedly a couple of hours later. The Cancel/Drain button still works. Do you think that this is a Panel Control issue, a Circuit Board issue or something else? Are replacing these just unplug old and plug in new?
1 Answer Hello Don. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the control panel WPW10235721 is bad and will need to be replaced. Make sure the connection is good and dry and is seated properly. Hope this helps. Read More...
Tammyr December 12, 2011 for Model Number MDB6759AWS The control panel will not stop blinking on the start button. None of the other buttons will respond cancel/drain etc. I replaced the control panel as recently as January of this year and it appears to have gone out again..any suggestions? This is an expensive part to replace once a year at $168 plus. Are there any trouble shooting techniques I can try before buying another control panel?
1 Answer Hello Tammy. Test the door latch switches and make sure they are good. If so, try removing the ribbon cable and cleaning it and make sure it is good and dry. If so, and the panel still does not work, you will need to replace the control panel WPW10235721. Make sure that water does not get into the panel. If so, it can cause it to go bad. Hope this helps. David November 20, 2011 for Model Number MDB6759AWS3 The control panel cycle buttons don't light when pressed except the "Auto Clean Plus". When I push the other cycle buttons, some of the option buttons light up. Is this normal? Are there any sensors that would cause the cycle buttons to not work? I removed the control panel ribbon and cleaned it. It did not change anything. Could the soil sensor be the problem? Thank you for your help.
