Chris F Middletown , NJ August 01, 2015 Appliance: Maytag Undercounter Dishwasher MDB6759AWS3 Maytag quiet series 300 "start" light blinking and would not turn on Given that I had 14 house guests for a week, I tried calling a Maytag repair man to expedite the fix - unfortunately, he didn't have the part, but did identify the problem as a bad control panel. I ordered the part (#W10235721) from Appliance Part Pros (which was quick and easy) and received the right part the first time and very quickly. To replace the control panel, the Maytag guy said about $200 plus the part. If you have a torx screw driver set, you can do this repair in 15 minutes. If not, you need to go to The store and get one for a few dollars and then fix it. First, turn off the power to the unit (at the breaker is less work than unmounting the unit from the surrounding cabinet). 11 torx screws remove the inside of the door from the front of the door. Then you have to remove 3 1/4 inch hex screws to see the inside of the control box where the ribbon connector attaches. Last, you need to undo the two torx bolts that hold on the door handle (and also) attach the control panel to the door. Once that's done, detach the ribbon from the control panel - and note that the "wire side" is up and the "blue tape" side is down. You can now remove the broken control panel by sliding it up. Also note how the ribbon wire is run under the control box so you run the ribbon wire right for the new panel. Be careful sliding the new panel in place as the inside corners of the front are a tight fit and you can ding them a bit- the control panel does flex a bit and this helps get it in and then just male sure the tabs on top of the door slide into the slots on the bottom of the control panel. Once it's seated properly, run and reattach the ribbon wire - wire side up - and make sure it's in evenly inserted all the way across. put the 3 hex screws back to reinstall the cover of the control box. Put the handle back on - 2 Torx screws. Put the 11 torx screws back to attach the inside and the outside of the door - put in loosely until all are started then tighten - not over tight. Turn the power back on and it should be all done. Note, when you take the old control panel off and the handle off, you may note a lot of dirt that you migtz want to clean off before reassembling. Also, I didn't detach the inside of the door from the outside - I was able to use the available space to do the work, but detaching some of the other wire connectors will let you get a bit more space (but I can't tell you if disconnecting the other wire harnesses runs other risks). It might just be easier (if you need the space) to get an extra set of hands to help hold the inside cover up while you do the work (a luxury I was lacking). good luck! James L The Villages , FL March 21, 2016 Appliance: Maytag Undercounter Dishwasher MDBH968AWS2 Maytag dishwasher bad design/quality ribbon cable from selection to control panel This is the third replacement. Always the same problem. The ribbon burns out above two labels on the cable. This takes 18 months and therefore occurs just outside of any warranty. $150 is less than $600. So, the part is less than replacement appliance. First time user of ApplianceParts.com. Unbelievable speed. Less than 24 hours. Best price. Given the replacement control panel, the installation is simple. Tools = T20 torque and one hex socket. Isolate appliance. Remove cover (T20). Remove Control Board (3 x Hex). Remove Ribbon at Control Panel (Slide receiver and pull). REMOVE LABELS FROM RIBBON. Replace new panel and re-assemble.
