Roddy October 13, 2015 I have ordered a replacement cook top and the front bracket is about 1/2 too far back and I can't install it. Have you seen this problem? Part number is W10239873 to replace.
1 Answer Hello Roddy, I'm sorry but we will have to have the model number from the units' I.D. tag to look up the correct part for your appliance. It sounds like you have an incorrect part for your unit. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...

Matt January 07, 2014 for Model Number KESC307HBS5 Hi. I recently posted a question asking if I could replace a cracked cooktop with MFG part # 8190779 for the aforementioned model #. The answer I received stated that I should have ordered MFG part # 8190780. I had a fairly lengthy online chat with an appliance pros specialist who said MFG part # 8190779 would work fine. I should mention that I explained to the specialist that I wasn't concerned with an exact aesthetic match but more concerned with function. So again I'll ask, will MFG part # 8190779 work with Model # KESC307HBS5? Thanks for your response, Matt.
1 Answer Hello Matt! Yes, cooktop part number WP8190779 will fit your model KESC307HBS5. The only difference in the cooktop is the color. Thanks. Read More...
Robert December 20, 2013 for Model Number Kitchenaid KERC607HBT8 Top right front element is to be replaced. How do I remove the glass top to get to the element. All the information I have looked up say to lift the glass top, but our range has a front control panel. The screws I removed from under the top of oven door only loosen the control panel itself, glass top is still attached to the range and I am not sure what to do to get it lifted up.
1 Answer Hello Robert, As per the service manual: 1. Unplug range or disconnect power. 2. Remove the control panel from its' sub-chassis and rotate it forward onto the cooktop glass. 3. Remove the five screws and flat washer from the control panel sub-chassis. 4. Move the control panel back into place over the chassis, then lift the front of the cooktop assembly, and prop it up with a piece of board so that you can access the components. CAUTION: Be careful that the cooktop does not accidentally fall. Read More...

Jj July 01, 2012 for Model Number KERC608LSS I will be ordering a replacement glass top for our stove (which cracked) and we have removed (which was easy b/c it cracked!) but am not clear on the instruction about removing the control panel - I removed 5 screws which seemed to work, but am not understanding how the area lifts in order to insert the new glass. Any illustration or further instructions than above would be helpful. Thank you,
1 Answer Hello JJ. To remove the console on a freestanding range, you will need to remove four screws along the bottom of the control panel (see the photo above). You will need to open the oven door to access these four screws. You will also need to remove the side trim screws. To remove the side trim screws, remove the side panel and two screws from the cooktop trim. Slide the cooktop trim back to expose the side trim screw, and remove the screw (1 on each side). Roy D. April 26, 2012 for Model Number kerc608lss Hello. I just received the glass top that I purchased from you guys AP383747. Can you please explain to me how I can replace it? Thank you.
1 Answer Hi Roy. 1. Unplug range or disconnect power. 2. Pull the range out of its mounting location so that you can access the side trim. 3. Remove the control panel from its subchassis, and set it on the subchassis. 4. Remove the two screws from the left and right side trim. Do not remove the trim at this time. 5. Raise the cooktop and prop it up. 6. Loosen the left and right tension bracket screws and remove the brackets from behind the side trim. 7. Remove the wire clip from the left side trim. 8. Pull the left and right side trim off the cooktop. To remove the trim, lift it away from the cooktop glass, and pull the back off the rear trim. 9. Lower the cooktop. 10. Lift the front of the cooktop glass, pull it forward from under the rear trim, and remove the glass from the cooktop. IMPORTANT: When you reinstall the cooktop glass, keep the side edges of the glass inside the four alignment tabs (two on each side). If the glass AP3837474 is over the tabs, it could break when you lower it. Thank You. Read More...
