Roberttraut February 12, 2021 for Model Number WRF560SMY W04 I ran a diagnostic test and found the irritating noise from my refrigerator was from the part called a damper. Will the part stop the noise
1 Answer Roberttraut, replacing the damper assembly WPW10257451/WPW10257451 Damper, will probably solve the noise issue. The motor gear and linkage can begin to get noisy with some wear and tear from the opening and closing of the door. Check and make sure all the doors close and seal properly, the refrigerator is leveled properly. Thanks, Read More...
Curt January 06, 2019 for Model Number WRF560SMYW01 I have a Whirlpool french door fridge with the freezer on the bottom. The freezer freezes and evaporator coil freeze up. The heater omhs out good and the thermister ohms out at 0.316 but the upper part does not get cold. Can you help in what direction to look in? Thanks for your help
1 Answer Curt, the freezer thermister at freezing temperatures should read around 22k ohms at 0 degrees. If the thermister is only reading 0.316 ohms the part needed will be the thermister WPW10383615 as it will cause the damper to remain closed until the freezer hits temperature. Read More...
Peter May 22, 2018 for Model Number GSS30C7EYW00 I installed part #w10257451 damper last year. After a couple of days I heard slapping sound every minute or so. Today I finally got around to looking at it. The damper door opens then slams shut. Keeps repeating this cycle.
1 Answer Hello Peter. Based on the model number you provided, you ordered the wrong part. You need to order W10814173 for the correct damper needed for your model. Thank you. Read More...
