1 Answer Jon, your model does not use a defrost timer. Your model uses a jazz board, which now comes in a kit as part number WPW10503278. The electronic control is located in the control section of the refrigerator side of your appliance. Hope this helps you. Thanks. Read More...

Bob January 30, 2014 for Model Number ARB2109 I have a refrigerator with a freezer on the bottom. The refrigerator is cold but the freezer is not. The door gasket on the freezer needs replacing due to some tears. But I did notice the coils were frozen. I was wondering if the frozen coils was due to the defrost timer or something else?
1 Answer Hello Bob. Most likely, the coils are froze due to the bad door gasket on the unit. You need to replace the door gasket on the unit. Then melt off the ice and see if the conditions improve on the unit. Read More...

Jackie December 04, 2013 for Model Number amana SZD23VW Replaced evaporator motor it ran great for a day or so then the evaporator motor stopped running, the condenser motor still running. If I unplug it and wait a few hours then plug back up it runs great for a day or so then same thing. I also noticed the lines in the back of the unit freeze up. Is this a defrost timer issue or something else?

Victor M September 09, 2013 for Model Number GB22DKXGW00 I have a whirpool gold that I have replaced the three way starter to the compressor ...The freezer and refrigerator went to working normal, now the freezer is barely freezing and the refrigerator is at 58 degress and will not go below that. (there is ice build up on the back wall in my freezer....Can you please share some advice on what i can check next.
1 Answer Victor, It sounds like you may have a defrost problem with the unit. Check and see if there is any frost build up on the back wall of the freezer. If so, you will need to test the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat. They should read closed for continuity when cold. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I will include a link at the end to assist you how to use the multi-meter if needed. If both parts are good, you will need to replace the defrost timer. Once the problem is repaired, you will need to thaw out the ice on the coils before the unit will operate properly. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
