Mike May 03, 2021 for Model Number Kitchenaid ksf26c7xyy00 Refrigerator compartment was warm. Freezer compartment was fine. Found that the refrigerator compartment evaporator was frozen up. The bad thermistor was replaced. Now, I notice, the refrig temps bounce between 41 and 31, even during night times when door is closed. In the parts diagram for this model, I see another thermistor on the right side of the refrigerator compartment about half way up. What is its purpose? Does it have anything to do with the temp range? Or should I just not worry about the differences in the temp range?
1 Answer Mike, it would be recommended that the temperature is checked in a couple of spots of the refrigerator as location can change what temperature is measured. If the temperature measured is in front of the air vent, it will show colder temps. If the refrigerator is set to 37°F, the temperature can increase up to 4°F before the refrigerator calls for cold air again. The thermistor W10316760 on the right wall is going to be the cabin thermistor. Read More...
Jim September 29, 2020 for Model Number GSF26C5EXY00 I have a refrigerator model GSF26C5EXY00. I see 2 holes between the freezer and the refrigerator. The top one is for the diffuser, but the bottom one is just a hole. It looks like there is supposed to be something over it, but I can't find it on the diagram. Do you have any information on this? Thanks.
Juli-Anne July 17, 2019 for Model Number Waf26c3exf01 Do I have to defrost the fridge to replace the diffuser? I am not hearing any clicking but the fridge seems to run constantly and food is freezing so worry the damper is stuck open. Could there be another issue?
1 Answer Juli-Anne, unfortunately the model number provided is not matching the manufacturer database. If the model can be verified and posted in a new inquiry, the most accurate information can be provided. Generally speaking, you may want to inspect the temperature sensor to ensure that it is reading the correct resistance compared to the actual temperature. More than likely either the sensor is not registering the proper temperature or the control is not registering the reading from the sensor. Checking for voltage being supplied to the diffuser will also be a good way to verify if the control is sending voltage to the diffuser when needed. Read More...

Lori April 21, 2018 for Model Number GSF26C4EXW02 We have been having the clicking noises and EVERYTHING constantly frozen for months . I stumbled upon your website and am so happy I did. Our repair man said he'd be back in 3 days with the part and that was 2 months ago , he doesn't answer our calls and he was sent to us BY Whirlpool . This is the most frustrating , unbelievable waste of $ we've ever been through . The fridge is only 5 years old and every website says the part is no longer available. The part # is W10251516 , can you give us any advice on where to go next ? Either way we are so grateful to get any info on why this is happening , and also to see we're not alone with our so frustrating issue .

Linda September 27, 2013 for Model Number Whirlpool side by side I have part number W10251395 I have a Whirlpool side by side fridge. We had a constant loud clacking sound in the upper left side of the fridge side wall. The same thing happen about a year ago and the service guy replaced the Diffuser part number W10251495. Now the same thing is happening. The flap inside is making the clacking sound and you can see sticking, opening, clacking back. Is this the norm to have to replace this every year? Does this part also contain the flap that is causing the sound?

Burl E. July 25, 2013 for Model Number GSS26C5XXY00 The thermistors went on the unit and caused the damper in the diffuser to cycle frequently. Ice then built up in the diffuser and broke the damper motor. Do I have to change the entire diffuser or can I replace the damper unit, which has a part # W10257451 on it. You list the damper part # but not for this model refrigerator. Thanks, Burl E.
