Dino Kadriu December 17, 2018 for Model Number GFG471LVQ1 My tenant called me and said his oven wouldn't start. I went over to check it out and figured out that the broiler burner works, but the bake burner does not ignite. I can hear the oven clicking, but that is coming from the broiler burner (I'm guessing they both click when either of them is lighting). I can light the bake burner manually with a lighter during ignition sequence, so I'm pretty sure it's not a gas issue. I replaced the temperature sensor gauge and the ignitor and it was working fine at first and actually felt like an oven but then started to do the same thing. Any suggestions?
1 Answer Dino, Test the oven safety valve for a resistance of 216 ohms from the center terminal to either of the outer terminals and if the resistance is not correct then this will be a faulty safety valve. Read More...
Dave September 26, 2018 for Model Number WFG510SOAS Cook top burners work fine. Both the broil and bake will spark and ignite but the flame goes out after a second
1 Answer Dave, With the flame going out after just a few seconds this would most likely be caused by faulty solenoids in the gas valve. The part number for the valve is WPW10602001. Read More...
Mr Steve April 26, 2018 for Model Number sf368lepq How can I tell if the gas valve is bad, I have a meter just don't know what to measure or where.
1 Answer Hello Mr. Steve. Check between each solenoid for 216 O resistance (Broil terminal to Common, and Bake terminal to Common). The common is the middle terminal on the valve. Broil on top and bake on bottom on the gas valve. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Sam March 30, 2018 for Model Number SF362LXSS0 The cooktop works. When selecting the broiler setting the control board clicks, the igniter clicks twice, but there is no gas or heat. When selecting the bake setting, the control board clicks but the igniter does not click, nor is there any gas and heat. Originally I thought that I just needed to replace the oven igniter, but after reading some of the other questions posed on this site I am now wondering if it isn’t something more. With the control panel clicking on both the oven and broiler setting can I rule out a faulty control board?
1 Answer Hello Sam, If there is no gas for the spark to ignite I would suspect a bad gas valve WPW10293048. Read More...
Kai March 15, 2018 for Model Number SF369LEPT1 The top burners all work but not the oven. The broiler has no spark or sound when turned on and when preheating the oven to bake, it sparks but no ignition. It only works "properly" when the metal hot plate cover is removed. Otherwise, it'll just spark and not ignite.
1 Answer Hello Kai, If there is no foil in the bottom of the unit the issue is going to be either a bad burner WP9758078 or a poor connection to or a bad gas valve WPW10293048. Read More...
Loi December 15, 2017 for Model Number WFG515S0ES0 The bake burner pre heat to the temperature I want. But one the temperature go down, the bake burner keep clicking and the temperature can't go up to the set temperature. For example, pre heat to 400. It's go up to 400 at the beginning but later the bake burner won't able to keep the temperature at 400. Please help
1 Answer Loi, With the oven getting to the set temp but then not staying temp but trying to reignite then this will most likely be an issue with the oven safety valve. Read More...
Taylor August 15, 2017 for Model Number WFG371LVS1 I have a Whirlpool Accubake Gas Range. Recently the oven and broiler stopped working. The stovetop works fine. When I go to turn on the oven, select the temp, press start, nothing happens...no clicking, no gas, nothing.
1 Answer Taylor, With there being no spark or anything when setting the oven then the most likely cause for this will be that the control board is faulty and will need replaced. The part number for the control is WPW10424330. Read More...
Brian June 23, 2017 for Model Number WFG745H0FH1 Brand new stove. Range top works fine. Both broiler and oven light and turn off after a second. Flame sensors and connections look fine.
1 Answer Brian, With the oven lighting but not staying lit then this will be most likely going to be caused by a faulty oven safety valve on the unit. Read More...
Justin March 23, 2017 for Model Number WFG515S0ES0 My tenant called me and said his oven wouldn't start. I can hear the oven clicking, but that is coming from the broiler burner (I'm guessing they both click when either of them is lighting). I can light the bake burner manually with a lighter during ignition sequence, so I'm pretty sure it's not a gas issue. Do I just have a bad igniter on the bake burner? Does it need to be cleaned? Is it potentially something else? Thanks for any help!
1 Answer Justin, This issue sounds like it would be caused by the oven igniter WP9758079. Read More...
Skcincy February 22, 2017 for Model Number WFG540H0ES0 Tenant complained that oven would not always light. I removed bottom pan to watch ignition process and it worked fine about 10X. Valve clicks open, spark igniter sparks (two rapid sparks, repeated if not immediately ignited) and burner lights up as expected. Reassembled and started a few more times before I could duplicate failure to light. In this case the spark igniter clicks 8X (four pairs of rapid clicks) and then stops, locking control. I can CANCEL and unlock START control and get it to start but I have more patience than my tenants. Also, there is a bit of residual gas in the oven when it fails to start. I think gas valve shuts off when control is locked but the gas resulting from failed ignition does cause a little concern. Note that I could only duplicate the problem when the burner was already a bit warm. I wonder if the gas is being heated to a point below the ignition temp but rising above the igniter and not lighting right away. Normally the natural gas will be a bit heavier than air and fall slightly as it comes out of the burner. Any suggestions? All parts seem to be doing their job.
1 Answer Hello SKCincy. I would check and make sure the burner is clean and not rust and make sure the orifice is clean. In this case, it sounds like one of the 2 may be dirty. Read More...
