The Surface Element is an OEM part for Whirlpool ranges and cooktops. This component is essential for providing the heat necessary for cooking on the stove, converting electrical energy into the heat needed to cook food.

Over time, surface elements can become faulty due to wear and tear, overheating, or electrical issues. Replacing a bad surface element ensures the appliance continues to perform effectively and safely.

1 yr old stove. Stock 8" burner takes forever to boil water! Is there a higher wattage replacement? Our altitude is only 1,000"

Joanie, check and make sure the element is properly seated and secured to the receptacle for proper transfer of heat/power. The 8" elements are rated at 2150 watts and 1,000 ft altitude shouldn't affect the heat or operation of the element(s). "Some consumers have also reported longer high-heat cooking times, such as the time to boil large volumes of water. This is normal operation for current coil heating elements and is not an indication of problems with the coils." You may want to try this, as a test. place 2.5 qt of water in a sauce pan. water temperature needs to be 70 dgrs.F. Cover the pot, select the hi heat setting. It should take 8.5 to 9.5 minutes to bring the water to a slow or medium boil. Thanks,

Marianne January 12, 2020 for Model Number CVE4270W Jenn-Air Electric Cooktop

Are there any surface elements (6" & 8") that will fit this model along with drip pans? When I enter the model number CVE4270W, these parts do not show up as being available any longer (cooktop is 23 yrs. old). The non-Jenn Air "universal" replacement element that I had purchased does not sit flat in the opening. Still usable but I would prefer to have a flat sitting element. Any ideas on a compatible replacement?

Hello Marianne, the manufacturer has discontinued those elements, no substitutes are showing as available. The only recourse is to use the elements you have now.

I have Jenn-Air C 201 model and I need two 8” and two 6”surface element but the new ones have what is call reinforced delta frame will it work on 1984 C201? Also need the drip bowls.

My downdraft electric cooktop, probably dated 1970s, has one faulty 8" element, it is two prong, round and flat. Are any elements available that can be used as a replacement? I also need to replace 2 of the 6" drip bowls and need to find out which ones may be compatible. Thank you

I need to replace my JennAir cooktop electric elements. The replacement elements show a hoop at the end. My elements are flat at end. Any way I can find a replacement?

Carol, the 6" burner listed for your model is part number Y707727 and the 8" element is part number 708097. Unfortunately, these parts have been discontinued with no further replacements or cross references available and our company is unaware of any other available sources. Sorry about that!
