Diane November 05, 2013 for Model Number w130 We purchase this home last year and don't know how old the wall oven is. The temperature is now off by 50-100 degrees. I purchase a hanging probe to check. If I need 350 to bake I'm having to set the thermostat at 400 or 450. The heating element is heating all the way around, there are no hot spots. Is the problem the heating element or do we need to call a repairman?
1 Answer Hello Diane. You need to check and see if the temp probe is bad and will need to be replaced in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Bruce December 18, 2012 for Model Number 35FA-7B Hi, I'm looking to replace my bake element. Can you help me find the right part number for the element that will fit?
Jan June 22, 2012 for Model Number Magic Chef Range 35HA-92LX ON I have baking element that works, but one of the wire support "feet" has come off and one side of the element is resting on the oven surface. I stopped using my oven and wonder if that support can be replaced or if I have to replace the entire element.
1 Answer Hello Jan, There is no way to replace a foot on the element. You will need to replace the element WPY04000041 to correct this issue. Read More...
Molly June 17, 2012 for Model Number S58D-2CXW I need to replace the bake element. When I removed the old bake element, there were three wires attached. A red wire to one end of the element, a yellow wire to the other end of the element, and a green wire to a screw that was attached to a small metal plate that also held the yellow wire. The new bake element only has two connectors. What should I attach the green wire to?
1 Answer Hi Molly. Great question. When the element part # WPY04000041 is mounted with a screw it grounds the element itself (changed from the inside). Then make sure you repack any insulation back around the element through holes so heat don't escape and burn wires. Then the red and yellow wires to the element terminals. Find a chassis screw and place the green wire under it on the back. Make sure the connection is clean and tight to chassis ground. Thank You. Read More...
Bob G. November 08, 2011 for Model Number 68HN-6TVW What causes the oven (Bake or Broil) to shut off after a few minutes? Is it an element or control panel that is the problem?
1 Answer Hello Bob. If the unit just reset and quits baking, then the clock 7601P178-60 is bad on the unit. This part has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part. Thanks. Read More...
Janice V. October 07, 2011 for Model Number NEA3G8DEV I assume the bake element went out because there was a buzzing noise and white smoke in the oven and just a little light on the back element left. Is it difficult to replace a bake element for someone with handyman talents? My husband usually does replacements of parts himself.
1 Answer Hello Janice. No, the bake element WPY04000041 is not hard to replace. Just make sure the power to the unit is disconnected before the repair is done. Remove the screws securing the element. Pull the element out and remove the wires. Reinstall with the new element in reverse order. Hope this helps. Read More...
