Restore top-heat performance with this Oven Broil Element. Mounted at the top of the oven, it delivers the radiant heat needed for broiling and finishing, helping ensure quick searing and even browning on the broil setting. What it does:

  • Supplies radiant heat from above for broiling and top-browning
  • Energizes during broil and any cycle that calls for upper-element heat
  • Common symptoms: no broil heat, weak/uneven top browning, visible breaks or blisters on the element, or a tripped breaker when Broil is selected
  • Replacing a failed element restores consistent upper-oven heat
What's included:
  • 1 broil element
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power at the breaker before servicing
  • From inside the oven, remove mounting screws and gently pull the element forward to access terminals
  • Secure/label wires so they don't slip back through the rear panel; transfer leads one at a time
  • Avoid bending or stressing the new element; ensure terminals are fully seated before restoring power

Hello Jack! Hello! You will need to unplug the range. Remove the oven racks. In the back of the electric range, there are two screws that hold on a bake element. Remove these two screws and gently pull the element towards the door opening. Remove the wires from the bake element one at a time. You may need to use long nosed pliers to remove the wires. Be careful that the wiring doesn't fall back through the back of the oven. Once the wires have been removed, discard the old element and replace it with the new one. Once the new element is installed, plug the unit back in and test. Hope this information helps!
