Amy May 24, 2023 for Model Number KDRP467KSS0 I replaced the ring element, part number WP9760769 but the oven is now cooking at likely twice the heat called for at the dial. Does the new element need to be calibrated? Can it be calibrated?
1 Answer There is no calibration that will solve double the heat. You will need to look on your unit for a tech sheet (the tech sheet will be hidden somewhere on the unit) to find help with recommended testing and procedures. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Howard, it is mounted on the rear inner liner of the oven, remove the screws holding the cover in place, if the wiring to it is not accessible from the oven inner the wall oven will need to be unmounted and accessed through the rear section. Read More...
Emile January 24, 2020 for Model Number gr478lxpq0 range When I use convection it takes a super long time for the oven to get up to temperature. But when I use regular bake it heats up just fine. Was thinking it was the circular heating element...what are thoughts?
1 Answer Emil;e, you will need to check the resistance of the convection heating element. Turn the power off and access the back of the oven to where you can see the two terminals of the element for the convection heater. Pull one wire off the element, (it doesn't matter which one), set your multimeter to ohms of resistance and touch one lead to the bare terminal, the other lead to the other terminal and take a reading. At 1600 watts, the reading should be about 36 ohms, plus or minus 10%. If the reading is correct, the problem will be at the control board and it will need to be replaced, [9759558] If the reading does not fall into this range, replace the convection heater element. Jim June 07, 2011 for Model Number kenmore refer #1068680380 The freezer seems to be working; I have removed the back and had to remove ice from the coil and the fan because the fan blades were hitting the ice buildup. The refer compartment will only reach 51 degrees. Is there some ice build up in the compartment that is keeping the temp up? Would allowing the total refer to stand idle for 2 days rectify the problem? Or is a new refer to be bought? I appreciate your answer. Jim
1 Answer Hello Jim. From the description you have provided, it sounds like you have a defrost issue. You could have a bad timer W10822278, defrost thermostat WP4387499 or the element (which is no longer available). You can test the thermostat with a multi meter MA-DM1, it should read closed when cold. The element, should give you some resistance reading. Here is a link you can refer to for help with using a multi meter: http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html . Jim K. June 04, 2011 for Model Number kemc308ksso Where does the circular element mount in the oven. Will the oven heat without this element? The electronic board has a few lighted items and it does not matter what pad is pressed nothing happens? I would appreciate your help. Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Jim. The circular element mounts into the back of the oven. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=264586&diagram_id=28256757 You do not need to operate the oven without this element. You will also need to replace the control board 8302985 and the membrane WP4456357. Hope this helps. Read More...
