For Whirlpool Washer Drain Pump Filter (Part Number: OEM18051624)

Uncle Ernie, Thank you for your question. It would be recommended to pull the agitator and make sure that it is clean under it. The washer does not have any oil in it that would cause this issue so it would either be residual fabric softner or something else that has gotten into the washer.

Matt for Model Number MVWB765FC2

Does this washer have a lint filter? Mine has stopped draining. I’m only hearing a humming sound from underneath. Then I get a DRN error and a chiming sound. Then it powers off after a while. I drained the unit manually and inspected all the hoses. No obstruction was found. I am leaning towards a bad pump but wanted to check the filter option first. If this top load washer has a filter I haven’t been able to locate it. A pump filter is listed in the replacement parts however.

Hello Rick, thank you for contacting APP, It does not appear that this unit has a filter. I would recommend running a cleaning cycle with an Affresh W10501250 tab or a couple of cups of white vinegar. This unit does not have a dedicated cleaning cycle, so I would recommend setting the unit to Max Fill water level, Hot temperature, Fabric Softener 2nd Rinse on Options, and Heavy for the cycle selection.

Sylvia, This unit would not have a lint filter. It is possible that the issue could be caused with liquid fabric softener build up that is getting on the clothes. Remove the agitator and check to see if there is build up under it and clean if there is.

Hello Wendy, If the unit is properly leveled so it cannot rock and the floor is not weak, the issue is most often the spin basket W10554251 no longer containing the saline solution used for load balancing.
