Fix It October 03, 2011 for Model Number LTG6234AW2 How to remove top of washer to replace lid switch ?
1 Answer Hello Fix It. Disconnect the power to the unit. Remove the two screws in the corners of the panel securing the panel. Next unplug the lid switch and remove the two brass colored clips securing the cabinet to the back wall using a flat blade screwdriver to pry them out. Pull on the front of the cabinet and slide the cabinet off the frame of the washer. You can now access and replace the lid switch WP3355458. Reinstall in reverse order. Hope this helps. Read More...
Tony May 09, 2011 for Model Number Whirlpool LTE62234DQ0 Thanks for your answer on removal of the clips. Just to be sure that I got it right, do I stick a screwdriver horizontally under any loop in a clip and yank it up? Or do I try to pry vertically and squeeze the sides of a clip into releasing. I ask this because I don't understand how the clip is really locked in, i.e at the sides or the ends.
1 Answer Hello Tony. You will put the screwdriver inside the hook that is on the right side of the part picture 3349770. This should be inside the cabinet in a cut out. Then you pry toward the back of the washer to release the clips. Hope this helps. Read More...
