Victoria August 27, 2019 for Model Number 110.92962102 My washer is not draining but sometimes it will. If I run the timer to a drain cycle it will drain. Checked the lid switch and it does click when it is pushed. I did find the ground wire next to switch was not connected. Before I replace the switch could that be the problem? Not sure where it was connected on the washer top.
1 Answer Hello Victoria, the drain pump is directly connected to the washer's drive motor, if you are able to get the drain pump to work by selecting a different point on the washer timer then the problem is in the timer, however, washer timer part WP3955679 has been discontinued by the manufacturer. and is no longer available. 1 Answer Hello Miles. Disconnect the power to the unit. Remove the two screws in the back corners of the control panel securing the control panel. Pull the control panel forward and flip it backwards. Next unplug the lid switch and remove the two brass colored clips securing the cabinet to the back wall using a flat blade screwdriver to pry them out. Pull on the front of the cabinet and slide the cabinet off the frame of the washer. You can now access and replace the lid switch 3355458. Reinstall in reverse order. Read More...

Freddy May 05, 2014 for Model Number YLTE6234DQ2 Brand: Whirlpool hi there i am in the process of installing my new Lid Switch Assembly (part#3355458 ) i have grounded one of the ends of the wire (screwed on the outside) http://s1.postimg.org/sx6en5vr3/IMG_0215.jpg but i am having a problem as to where to ground the other end of the wire or is it supposed to be grounded? it looks like a plug actually. here is a photo of the wire. it is right next to the actuator of the switch. http://s10.postimg.org/5vra8hg5l/IMG_0212.jpg thanks.
1 Answer Freddy, You will ground one end of the ground wire somewhere in the area of the switch and the other wire would ground next to the switch or just slide onto a piece of metal as long as it is grounded. Read More...
