Tom January 31, 2014 for Model Number 9834920 My ice maker makes ice, the cutter is so slow that ice builds up on the cutter. This causes water to cascade over the ice and into the storage area, melting what ice is there. Is there a way to test the cutter to see what is or isn't working? The ice maker is a Kenmore Clear Ice Cuber, model number 9834920. This unit was bought in the mid eighties.
1 Answer Hello Tom. See if the cutter read closed for continuity. If so, replace the transformer in the unit. Read More...
Terry October 13, 2013 for Model Number EC5100xFB0 The cutter grid wires heat on the bottom, but not on the top. The ice block does not fall through the grid, but merely sits on top of the wire grid that is not heated. Is it possible to get the grid re-wired so that both the top and bottom wires are heated?

Karen S. November 11, 2012 for Model Number Not sure - its an undercounter Whirlpool Gold ice maker The wire on the grid cutter broke so I need to replace it. I have 2 options the assembly AP3859445, or the grid cutter AP2903163. Which one is the cutter in its entirety? To just remove one and plug another in?
