Betty June 09, 2017 for Model Number Maytag Atlantis Can't get to it on the back. When draining water comes up around the hose. I thought I had a clogged drain pipe but I have had it cleaned. Finally my maintenance man said I have the wrong hose. It does not fit tight and it seems to build up back pressure and overflow. I remember back in the day my washer had a solid rubber hose that fit very tight. My drain hole is 1 1/2 " in diameter. This hose is a corrugated hose with a little rectangle shaped notch I the side. I can't get it down far enough to block the water from coming back up. I'm even thinking about caulking around it to try and seal it. HELP! Betty
1 Answer Hello Betty. It is not the hose and it is not suppose to be air tight or you can create a vapor lock and siphon issue. The problem is the pipe the water drain into is to small. Washers need a 2" drain pipe behind them. The 1 1.2" will work, but yours is not draining properly so it is backing up. The washer is fine on the unit. Read More...
Dee November 08, 2015 for Model Number WTW5100VQ Whirlpool about 6 years old Need a drain hose extension to reach the wall drain system - the book that came with the washer says I should order Part 49022 Drain Extension Kit, but I've begun to think the book has a typo and that the part I need is actually 40922. According to your site, 40922 is not compatible with my washer when I do the cross reference check, yet it is displayed in the list of parts for this model. Just want to check - I need an extension - not a replacement hose. So I need the pieces to connect my existing hose to an extension hose. Also wish the extension was available in something shorter than 4' -- between 2' and 3' would be plenty. Is 40922 my best option?
Vincent April 05, 2014 for Model Number MVWC425BW The drain hose that came with the machine is too short... is there an extension kit that I can use?
Peter December 01, 2012 for Model Number wtw5500sq0 Whirlpool washer Water was leaking form under the washer. When I removed the casing, I saw the white plastic strain relief collar for the effluent hose had not been connected, and the hose had been rubbing on the laundry rooms concrete floor until it had worn through. 1) Would this be considered a manufacturing defect? 2) How would I get a replacement hose since the one in the photos on your site dont look the same as the one I have?
1 Answer Hello Peter, The drain hose could have come out of the clip over time. Part 40922 is a drain hose extension in case the drain hose is not long enough. The correct drain hose for your unit would be WPW10096921. The drain hose may look different in appearance as far as color but is the replacement for your unit. Read More...
