Brian November 19, 2025 for Model Number WRF757SDHZ04 Hello. My icemaker isn't working. I ran test 57 (harvest test) and the display on the door showed numbers 1, 20 & 01. I'm not sure what those numbers mean. I could hear a noise coming from the icemaker during the test. Almost like a light clicking or grinding sound. Maybe a gear not engaging. I heard the same sound before the test. With the doors open I could hear the sound for about 5 seconds then it would stop. Then it would repeat. I'm wondering if the icemaker is damaged. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Brian, and thank you for your question. IF there is a clicking and grinding sound coming from the ice maker, the motor gear has likely stripped and the ice maker W11658802 would need to be replaced if this is the case. Read More...
Bart September 24, 2025 for Model Number KRMF706ESS01 I just replaced the ice maker for the second time and both times had difficulty removing the water line retainer. The YouTube videos show using a flathead screwdriver and it seems to remove easily. Such was not the case for me, both times. You don't have a video covering this part, so I was wondering if you could give me some insight in how it should be removed. The second failure indicates to me that this part will be a problem until I replace the refrigerator.
1 Answer Bart, Thank you for your question. There really is no easy way to get the retainer out. The way you have been doing it would be the proper way. Read More...

Tim December 15, 2021 for Model Number WRF767SDHZ200 Neither ice maker works, customer said it gave a f5code the thermistor was bad. Were is it located. Could the control board be bad since neither ice maker is working. I tried to manual start bottom ice maker with jumper wire nothing happen. What do i need to ck.
1 Answer Tim, The sensor would be located on the icemaker itself and to test the bottom icemaker you would need to make sure that you push in on the light switch so that it can cycle. The freezer icemaker does not run through the control board so it would not likely be the control board. Check to see if it is getting water into the icemaker or if there is ice in it. For the upper icemaker if it is saying there is a thermistor issue then this will be part of the icemaker. Read More...
Project Manager November 13, 2021 for Model Number WRF767SDEM01 Hi, my fridge has two ice makers, one above, and one in the bottom freezer. Will this ice maker work in the bottom freezer? Part 2: the ice maker turns off just fine, but when it is on it makes ice but leaks additional water which freezes and makes solid chunks. Does that sound like a new ice maker is needed? Thanks!
1 Answer Project Manager, Thanks for the question!!! The correct icemaker for your freezer section is W10886939. The extra water could be a failure of the icemaker or it could be the water valve is sticking open as well. Read More...
Dusty October 06, 2020 for Model Number KRFF707ESS01 We have water leaking from the icemaker and suspect the may be a hole in the ice tray. I can see the ice maker through the small door but cannot figure out how to remove the panel over the icemaker. Suggestions?
1 Answer Dusty, The ice maker does not have a plastic mold so it is unlikely that it has developed a hole. It is more likely that the water valve is not sealing and continues to drip into the ice maker overflowing it. We will send you some pages on how to access the ice maker through email. Read More...
