Rob September 06, 2013 for Model Number LGN2000JQ0 The Idler Pulley on my Whirlpool Dryer is a different design than the replacement part. The original part is a half moon 180 degree part that clears the Motor. The replacement part is a complete 360 degree diameter and the crashes into the Motor. Is the original part still available? is there a "fix" for the clash of the replacement part to the Motor? Any advice? Thanks in advance
1 Answer Hello Rob. The idler pulley WP691366 is the same size as the old one, it just has the rolling wheel to prevent friction caused by the old pulley. Amy April 05, 2013 for Model Number 11070202990 Hi APP, I have the dryer with the glide idler instead of the wheel. I just bought the wheel idler and new belt and when I put the new wheel idler the belt slipped off it immediately after half a rotation of the drum. I ended up just using the old glide one. How do you keep the belt from slipping on the far too wide new idler? The belt is only 1/4 inch thick...so why is the idler about 1 inch? Seems odd. Thanks, Amy
1 Answer Amy, There may have been a "twist in the belt, the belt may have been too far out of alignment on the drum or he idler assembly wasn't aligned and locked in the openings in the base. Any one of these scenarios would cause the belt to slip off the idler. The width of the idler pulley doesn't have a major effect on the belt or idler, it's the position of the belt on the drum in relation to the idler pulley that is of concern. You may want to try installing the idler and belt again, Mkaer sure there are no twist in the belt, then align the belt on the drum to the idkller pulley, install the belt on the motor pulley and slightly raise the front of the drum and turn it clockwise, slowly until you can turn it a few(2 or 3) revolutions without the belt coming off, then install the front panel etc. Read More...
Jeff March 16, 2013 for Model Number de412 The buzzer won't shut off except for when the dryer is running. It looks like the part is about $45. Can I just disconnect it?
1 Answer Jeff, You will want to check the white and yellow on the motor of unit to see if it is showing open or closed. If it is closed then you would need a new motor W10410999. Read More...

Doug May 03, 2012 My dryer threw the belt for unknown reasons. When I opened the dryer up, I was able to put the belt back on correctly but it apparently does not track correctly and throws the belt off again. I don't know why it threw it in the first place but would a worn belt not track correctly or do I have other problems. Everything else seems to operate correctly.
1 Answer Hello Doug. It sounds like the belt WPW10198086 and the idler pulley WP691366 will need to be replaced. Make sure when you install the new parts, you place the idler pulley in the slots closest to the motor on the dryer. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Paulus. Test the thermal fuse WP3392519 and the door switch WP3406105. They should read closed for continuity with the door closed. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
